Will Smith in a Better Headspace Since Apologizing for Slapping Chris Rock

Last month actor Will Smith returned from his self imposed hiatus to publicly apologize to comedian Chris Rock, and his family, for slapping him during the live broadcast of the Academy Awards for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith [click here if you missed that].

Now insiders say Will is feeling much less ashamed about the situation...

 From ET Online
A source tells ET, that, in the wake of his apology, "Will is feeling much more confident and much more positive and less depressed."
"He was in very low spirits prior to making his public apology," the source continues. "He feels less ashamed now and more comfortable being out and about in public again because he has and continues to do the work that needs to be done for himself, his wife, his family, his friends, his colleagues, his fans, The Academy, Chris and Chris' family."
The source adds that Smith "knows he still has a lot of making up to to do and that it will all take time." However, the 53-year-old actor is "putting in the work and that is putting him in a better state mentally."
Smith is "hopeful that time will heal things with Chris and that it will be okay between them with some time," the source shares.

He should never stop feeling ashamed because he will be prone to do it again. The best he can do is forgive his self.

Time heals wounds and wounds heels.

So here's a question: How does Chris Rock feel after Will Smith's apology? Does anyone even care?

Anonymous said...

Umm, he never felt shame in the first place. He seemed to think that after he got a standing ovation at the Oscar's that the general public was on his side. Once he saw real backlash he pretended to be sorry. Black women made this about them when in reality Will Smith is a narcissist who did this for his own ego and couldn't care less about black women's struggles. Have you ever heard him talk about anything remotely related to being black in Hollywood? His core audience is white and they turned on him. Needless to say I'm not a fan.

If my husband don’t stand up for me like Will did for Jada, then I don’t want him. The slap was a minor setback for a major comeback. I know he’s not ashamed for standing up for his wife, but because where the slappening happened. All those comedians standing behind Chris…let’s just hope he doesn’t disrespect their wives. But wait, I forget they will probably get a pass because Kevin’s wife look exotic, and Dave’s isn’t black. 💁🏾‍♀️

@12:15 PM Question: What did Chris Rock say that warranted Will Smith slapping him? Corey Holcomb said Jada's face looks like Iron Man with all of the Botox injections that she has had. Did Will Smith seek him out to stand up for Jada's honor? Will Smith did some sucker shit! Now defend him... Lets go!

Wish he hadn't apologized. "Good hair" Chris need to keep Black women out his mutha fuckin material.

12:20 we all know about the G.I Jane comment for one, and let’s not forget all the jokes about her in the past. You can look them up. And I did not watch the awards, nor do I know who Corey Holcomb is, but was he on stage when he said this? What happened between Will and Chris was called an “on site” moment. Will’s wife was not happy about the joke, Will acted on emotions, and slapped Chris on site.

It was definitely the wrong place and time, but like I said, I will not bash the man for defending his wife. I don’t care about their marital problems, their past, what’s going on now, nothing. In that moment, he stood up for his wife, and I respect that.

@12:47… So Jada can’t take a joke? I’ve seen Will Smith play practical jokes on the cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Fuck Jada and Fuck Will. You can’t justify his overreacting to a joke about his wife on at the Oscars. It was a punk move. Point blank period!

Black women really made this out to be a revolution about them and their hair when Will doesn't give 2 fucks about us! His core audience is white Hollywood and they turned on him. They're probably answering his calls now and willing to finish on a couple of his projects, but make no mistake, he was never sorry.

1:19 but I just did. Sorry, not sorry. And she can take a joke. She also said that before. But it wasn’t a one time thing with Chris. It was the icing on the cake. Like I keep saying, it was the wrong place and wrong time, but I’m not going to bash Will for standing up for his wife. I don’t care what they have going on in their personal lives. Smh can’t believe people are up in arms because I don’t see anything wrong with a black man protecting his queen.

What most people are missing is the fact that the joke wasn't funny. G.I. Jane? Really? If that's the best Chris could do (which is why his stand up performances are getting weaker), then he needs to stick to acting and maybe producing.
There was once a time when mothers and wives were off limits when it came to disses. Gen-X is to blame for starting that (there was even a rap song called Ya Mama) but there were still some boundaries. Anyway, Steppin Fechit 2.0 played into and was getting sympathy from peers but their community isn't like our community where mainstream media is first to report when we've done something wrong.

Wishing Will all the best!

I don't care, in the least bit, about Chris Rock.

Fuck unfunny ass Chris Rock, like someone else said that slap, was a on sight, Chris Rock ugly ass wife look like him in drag, although I don't like Jada's ass, he was disrespectful at her expense his ass should have known better, I'm glad Will slapped his ass, next time his bitch will keep people's spouse out his damn mouth. Will already apologized so can we move on from this tired ass story!!

Will fucked up Questlove’s winning acceptance speech and he stepped on everyone else who won after he took his little pussy moment. There is a time and a place for everything and in the middle of somebody else’s celebration is not the time or the place. If he needed to work this out he could have done it without hijacking the show, like backstage maybe. Will Smith is an asshole.

5:23 Your 100% right. He should have stepped to him backstage.
2:33 you damn right he doesn’t give a shit about any of us Black women Will doesn’t care !!!
Cool kid 12:20 you’re 100% right!! This is disposable behavior !!

To: COOLKID

Why should we care how Chris feels? He's already said he's not ready to talk and he's not accepting Will's apology. What's left? Is he expecting the public to chase him around and kiss his ass? Frankly, he should read the room because most of us have moved on from that event. It's over.

Here’s a question: Who was the victim in this situation?

Anonymous said...

7:49 am Jada Pinkett-Smith. She was sitting in the audience minding her business.

Anonymous said...

I don’t care how an attacker feels only the person that was victimized.

This could have been a set up. They don't want Will to get that big bag no mo. They are sick of him and his family and quite frankly so are the people. We all know they are swingers, yet they want to act all high and mighty and enlightened, self righteous assholes, when they are straight freaks by their own accord, noone forced them.
Jada took the L for Will with the entanglement. Remember that cryptic Insta post she did about people closest to you are the ones that betray you and to watch out......
