Byron Allen's $10 Billion Lawsuit Against Mc Donald's Moving Forward

Media mogul Bryon Allen's $10 billion lawsuit against McDonald's over alleged racist and unfair advertising practices gets the green light...

From NBC News
McDonald’s Corp. has been ordered by a U.S. judge to defend against media entrepreneur Byron Allen’s $10 billion lawsuit accusing the fast-food chain of “racial stereotyping” by not advertising with Black-owned media.
In a decision on Friday, U.S. District Judge Fernando Olguin in Los Angeles said Allen could try to prove that McDonald’s violated federal and California civil rights laws by deeming his networks ineligible for the “vast majority” of its advertising dollars.
Allen accused McDonald’s of relegating his Entertainment Studios Networks Inc and Weather Group LLC, which owns the Weather Channel, to an “African American tier” with a separate ad agency and much smaller ad budget, depriving them of tens of millions of dollars of annual revenue.
While not ruling on the merits, Olguin cited allegations that Entertainment Studios had since its 2009 founding tried repeatedly and unsuccessfully to obtain a contract from McDonald’s, whose “racist” corporate culture harmed Allen.
“Taken together, and construed in the light most favorable to plaintiffs, plaintiffs have alleged sufficient facts to support an inference of intentional discrimination,” Olguin wrote.

I know he’s interesting but he always looks like a pile of mud.

I regularly hear their ads on black/urban format radio shows and stations. They are ineffective to me because I think that their food is trash. I don't consume it.

Don't Mc D have the right to advertise with whom they want? Isn't he married to a Yt women. I have a lawsuit against that. LOL

We shouldn't be eating their food in the first place. It's junkfood! I feel no type of way about this. McD's could spin this and say they are doing the black community a favor.

Do they really have to advertise where they are prosperous without advertising? It's not like black folks don't know that the restaurant chain exists. Black folks probably eat more of that cheap stuff than any other group of people.

I have no dogs in this fight.

McDonald's loves advertising to black people. It's one of the few times media uses unambiguous black people in their ads to target us for their fast "food".

It's harder for many Black folks to understand what Byron is trying to do because the majority of us are employees, not employers. So we understand racism but not high up supremacy and how it stonewalls Black businesses. Whites do business with whites. Supremacy has much of what Byron is fighting for sewn up!

He's trying to enter a big money realm long controlled by supremacists. YT's help each other make money, and their biggest consumers are Blacks who don't get a piece of that pie. They only integrated us into society so we could be consumers, but they won't do REAL business with us up top. You can be a manger here and there, and even their CEO, but they will not do business with you if you actually OWN your own business. You can only be the face of a company, not the OWNER. This is why he's fighting. It's not enough to hire a "face" , he wants to conduct business like other grown men. The only one we have had in recent history is Mr. Johnson who owned Ebony, Essence, and Jet. But even then, to get loans he had to send in white guys who posed as him. Lol Also, his customers were Black and so he didn't need YT customers.

@10:45 AM But Calvin got a job!

Yes, employment is awesome. I'm not knocking a job, but if you want real money you must become an entrepreneur because all of the tax breaks and benefits go to owners. That's where the real power is. For instance, you pay your Healthcare premiums but you can't claim them, your boss does despite you paying half! America only recognizes business owners, not employees. Therefore, Byron is attempting to position himself, but here's the catch, he may be just as lowdown towards Black employees. Lol We don't know his intentions. I was just explaining the powernomics behind ownership and the ability to operate up top.

TO: 10:45 AM

I hope you're not black because what you said was not only inaccurate but also racially offensive. You made the assumption that most black people are employees and not employers. When the truth is, as a whole, this nation has more employees than employers of any ethnicities or race. Personally, I own an organization and most of the people in my family have legal or engineering firms. As you sadly proposed, Black people are not ignorant of most standard industry practices and we can all see exactly what Byron is doing because he pulls this stunt all the time. One thing he's certainly guilty of is using the "race" card whenever he needs to win at something and doesn't get what he wants. Yet, he parades around with his white wife and his biracial kids. We can see his shtick sir and none of us are convinced. Pick a side!!!!!
