Dwyane Wade Responds to Ex Wife's Lawsuit

Earlier this month Dwyane Wade's ex-wife, Siovaughn Funches-Wade, filed a lawsuit to prevent Dwyane from allowing their youngest child to change their name and gender on their birth certificate before their 18th birthday [click here if you missed that].

In his legal response DWade accuses Siovaughn of not acting in the best interest of the child...

According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the NBA star is claiming his ex-wife is not thinking about what’s in the best interest of their daughter — Zaya Wade — while arguing not to fight this petition.hes
We broke the story, Siohvaughn Funches filed documents in court accusing Wade of pressuring their daughter to make this monumental decision, partially based on money that could be made as a transgender female. The argument is interesting, considering Dwyane is one of the most famous basketball players in history, who most likely is fine in the cash department.
To be clear, Dwyane starts by explaining the original petition filed to change Zaya’s name and gender was done at HER request.
He says the petition “is not about Siohvaughn or Dwyane or their prior marriage, it is about what Zaya wants and what is in her best interest.” Adding, the petition “is about empowering Zaya to live her truth, allowing Zaya to take on the milestones of being a young adult with confidence and joy, and to ensure that those moments are not clouded by the self-doubt that comes from checking a box or signing a name that does not reflect her identity.”
In the filing, Dwyane Wade is asking for a court order affirming Zaya’s identity, allowing her to “live more comfortably and honesty in all aspects of her life-from simple introductions and food orders, to applying for a driver’s license and filling out college applications.”
The former NBA star says “granting the requested relief is an important step toward affirming Zaya’s gender and name change with the full faith and credit of an order by a California court” and “Zaya should not be forced to put her life on hold while she waits for Siohvaughn to acknowledge and accept her truth.”
Siohvaughn is asking the court to force Zaya and Dwyane to wait until she’s 18 years old to make such an important decision, a gender change, and to change the name on Zaya’s birth certificate.
Now, both sides will have to wait until December 12th, when a judge will decide if the case will proceed in California or be argued in Illinois.

Dwayne’s argument sounds ridiculous and dangerous

Sorry Wade but your ex wife is correct. Zion/Zaya can make that decision for him/herself when he/she is of legal age.

I love that pic of Z and mom. The last good pic of the two. That’s all I got because it’s clear Dwade anmd Gabrielle are on the path to ruining that child’s life.

I truly believe Dwayne is closeted and living vicariously through this child.

1- DWades money isn't Zion's/Zaya's money. He just trying to secure the bag for him/her.
2- Zion/Zaya is not a young adult, she is still a child.
3- All children are forced to put their life on hold until they become of age to make adult decisions. Zion/Zaya is not being singled out.
4- There's only a few years left until Zion/Zaya turns 18, what's the mf rush?

Take a page from the Jolie-Pitt's, Shiloh used to think she was a boy, she's become comfortable with herself and is a lovely young lady. Give Zion/Zaya some space to find him/herself.

Can't wait for him to become A REAL MAN. Nasty Gabby has controlled this relationship ever since he had the baby with the side piece.

Gabrielle and Dewayne are two DEMONS. Can't wait for them to reap the evil they have sown. Dewayne can't come out and so he lets his bitter wife turn his ex wifes innocent child into a freak show. Gabby is very wicked and D Wade is very weak and wicked.

Thank you Dwyane for acting in the best interest of Zaya. Gender dysmorphia is a real psychological category with known methods of treatment. What you people “think” should be done has nothing to do with what experts know is the best way to keep a child with this issue mentally healthy. Zaya is blessed to not have nunya as a parent. This is not about opinions. It’s about proven methodology.

No matter what happens or how old that child gets. They will remember that someone remembered that they are only
a child, a child that doesn't understand/know everything. The lies being fed to that child is the only life that child knows. So it is ONLY right to show that child that your life does not have to be a prison sentence. How do you go from learning that a child's mind is trapped in an identity crisis to thinking the answer is to make permanent legally binding changes to the said identity, in essence trapping the child again???

These heartless scums in human skin should leave this child alone. What's the rush? He /she will soon be eighteen and able to decide legally with a clear head and mind.

You can't let them get to 18, that is too late to be a successful trans. The younger you start chopping, the better. Dwade and Gabby are condemning that boy to hell for life, transgenders do not get in to heaven. Deuteronomy 22:5 ....

Like I said, Zaya is blessed to have nunya as a parent. Look up gender dysmorphia in the dictionary (if you can figure out how to spell it).

8:13 it's a mental health condition no matter how you try to spin it. How about seeking help for that first. The Wades have already admitted to NOT seeking professional help and are relying on others with the same form of mental illness for guidance. It's a case of the blind leading the blind.

Getting with someone who was violently raped, I knew it would be nothing but problems with this family.
