Ben Simmons Demands Return of Broken Engagement Ring

Brooklyn Nets point guard Ben Simmons, who had a messy break-up with recording artist Tinashe after he dumped her for Kendall Jenner [click here if you missed that], has sent a legal notice to his former fiancée, English television personality Maya Jama, demanding the return of her engagement ring....

From The Sun
MAYA Jama has been hit with a legal demand for the $1million diamond engagement ring given to her by her basketball ace ex-fiancé.
A source close to the star said: “Given Ben has never, until now, asked for the ring back, you can appreciate the letter came somewhat as a surprise to Maya.”
They added that she intends to hand it back. And a spokesperson for Maya told The Sun on Sunday last night: “Maya received a request from Ben’s representatives on Friday afternoon, asking her to return the engagement ring that he gave her as a gift last year.
“This was the first time that she has been asked by Ben to return it and, for the avoidance of any doubt, she has never refused to return it.
"Maya is making arrangements to return the ring to Ben and wishes him all the best.”
A friend of Simmons said: “Ben was really shocked when she left and didn’t give him the ring back.

If I’m reading it right he dumped her for another woman. She should have been able to keep it since he was out thrre chasing tail. My ring wasnt that expensive but i did not return it — hell no. Many years later it paid for a nice vacation.

@11:05 You are reading it wrong. He left Tinashe for Kendell. Then got with Maya who left him! She's enjoying the start of a long career in the UK as a tv personality. His timing is impeccable that's all I can say. I wouldn't let a woman keep a ring like that after she left me. Good on him!

Now why y'all bring Tinashe into this article that had absolutely nothing to do with her.

Dumb colourist girl, she thought she was it!

How do you know this woman is a colorist? Just because you resent her for her skin tone doesn't mean she's a colorist. The problem is apparently with you and not her. Develop some self-esteem.

Maya definitely dodged a bullet by not agreeing to marry Ben’s broke @ss! Dude couldn’t even afford the engagement ring that he gave her.

I'm not understanding this: It's OK nowadays to ask for gifts back?!?!?!? I guess I'm behind the times. I would never give someone a gift and then, because we no longer have a relationship, ask for it back. I want to assume that they were engaged so, if so, the rules of engagement are if she broke up with him, she returns the ring. If he broke up with her, she gets to keep the ring. I guess it's no longer like this.

She also dodged marrying into a family of incest and mental illness.

@2:49 Oop! Share the tea....

My ex asked for his ring back after I dumped him for cheating with too many women to count. I flung it like I was skipping pebbles. Go fetch!

@10:59 No such thing as “drawls”. The word is “drawers”. Comes from those old fashioned one-pieces with the flap in the back. Yes, I’m the language police.

Literally the ring is a gift based on a promise to be married. No marriage, legally the gift must be returned. Ask Judge Judy.

Yes Ms. R in NYC. What is the low-down tea on the mental illness tip?

This is a no brainet, make sure your engagement ring is not more spectacular than your wedding ring so you have no issues with returning it and make sure you get plenty more jewelry as gifts before the wedding. Anything that has to be returned by request shouldn't be that expensive or spectacular.

She had no intentions of returning that ring.He had every right to ask for it back it was an engagement ring no marriage no ring.Im pretty sure she thought she was going to keep it.
