If her paperwork is together she’ll get paid big time. Something is really wrong here because studios don’t usually steal that blatantly. That’s a horrible show name, btw.

I believe this. They'll steal anything.

The person who created the show name is lazy. Terrible name.

Same thing happened to Tionna Smalls with VH1.

So much (alleged) originality for a title that stole its name from Tina Fey's Mean Girls film. Honestly, I'm tired of the blatant "woke" storylines centered around black women. Can we collectively stop writing scripts that are meant to "educate" the masses on what it means to be black? Can we collectively write stories that showcase as humans first, and black freedom fighters lastly? I want to see a film where a black (not racially ambiguous/light skinned) woman falls in love, deals with the challenges of love while navigating a career in yt America. Can we get more stories like that?

Ironically, I don't like Issa or her series lol. I like the concept, just not the execution. It's the same with Lena Waithe; I love her script concepts, but the execution is always done so poorly. Its like, black ppl are great at conceptualizing ideas, but the execution is always half @$$ed. I'd love for more black writers to have their projects edited by a professional who can constructively challenge them and help them to create more cohesive projects that aren't patronizing caricatures or half @$$ done. Regina Hall's movie 'Honk for Jesus' is a prime example of this. That film had a lot of potential but the writers half @$$ed the ending, this ruining the entire film. Like I said, we have great ideas, but we need better editors or storytellers to help flush it out better on film.

Due to a combination of low expectations from white producers and the Tyler Perry school of we-don’t-need-no-writing-skills-to-write, Black tv writers have traditionally not been on the level of their white peers (Quinta Brunson being one of the exceptions). Problem is also that Black audiences have not learned how to require quality in the shows they watch.

True story. I met a hbo producer many years ago
The odd thing about it was he was lilly yte
Older dude and I was a young black chick
Coming in from partying the night before
Ok, we know men like about anything

But I thought to myself " What is this guy wandering around looking to pick up black chicks", lol
But then i thought to myself (way back then) this is probably 1 way dude get story content and sex on a slow day. It was just odd to me
I also had a show ideal when I thought later of his position
I was young and dumb and dude probably would have done the same to me
Smh

The title is actually stolen from a line in "Mean Girls". When Lindsay Lohans character is being given the tour of the cafeteria and the various cliques

Sounds like a stupid comedy that ain't even worth stealing.

If she has legal protections covering her intellectual properties, ie script ideas and production company, she'll be O.K.

9:46. Keep writing long ass posts about much you don't like black women's accomplishments, skin color, writing, subject matter etc etc bc that's about all the talent you have. Didn't Your manager tell you to get off your phone lol

Black women and women of color portrayed as mean girls, bad girls, rude, unfriendly, violent and argumentative, is a tired trope. There is so much more to black women than these negative stereotypes. Do better.

@10:59 OK I wasn't alone in my feelings about that Honk for Jesus movie. Loved the previews but the whole thing went totally south for me.

Mean Girls and the studio/production company behind it came up with the term “Unfriendly Black Hotties” If this is coming from that studio or production company, she will look dumb. All they have to do is insert that clip to show that they came up with this idea first.

Did they pitch it to allblk?
