Tyler Perry Covers Property Taxes for Seniors Affected by His Studio

Media mogul and philanthropist Tyler Perry is stepping up again to help senior citizens in Atlanta.

The City of Atlanta announced a $750,000 donation from Perry to assist low-income seniors with their property tax payments through the Invest Atlanta Partnership nonprofit.

The donation will go toward paying off the back city and county taxes and school taxes for every low-income senior. The city says at least 300 seniors meet that criteria currently. Part of the funds will also freeze property taxes for 100 low-income seniors.

Perry told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he will also donate an additional $500,000 in each of the next four years.
