Chris Rock Comedy Special Opens to Mixed Reviews

Last night Chris Rock finally addressed being slapped by Will Smith at the Academy Awards last year on his historic live Netflix comedy special.

It was Chris being his unequivocally true self, some get it,some don't. To me it was brilliant 👏🏽 He paced himself before ,dropping the Will and Jada haymakers everyone waited for,after prowling the stage like a Black Panther, then he went in for the kill

Chris' set didn't get funny until the last 10-20 minutes. He was struggling before that. Jokes fell flat, but he found his footing by the end. Probably should have led with that.

I think the most clueless aspect was calling it “Selective Outrage” as a dig at Smith, but missing that his targeting of Black women is MUCH more selective than Smith’s actions towards him.
