Angel Reese Speaks on Racial Backlash

Over the weekend First Lady Jill Biden topped off a racially charged NCAA Women's Basketball Championship Tournament after suggesting inviting the losing school from Iowa to celebrate at the White along with the winners from Louisiana [click here if you missed that].

LSU star player Angel Reese speaks about the backlash and how she handled it...

In the interview Angel says she prepared for the negative media attention and speaks for all the girls who usually don't get a voice. She also admits that she is unsure about visiting the White House.

The female who is doing the interview needs journalism school. I hope she goes to the White House so she can address it to JillB in intelligently person.

They should go to the WH with a smug grin on their faces when they are greeted by the Pres and his First Lady. If she likes Michelle Obama then think like her, and go high when they go low.

Go to the WH for wha. Show the yt house disrespect ain’t tolerated. Puff puff pass on that. Put them to shame on every level when yt start that Blk/yt mess.

She's in for a rude awakening if she thinks the Obama's aren't doing the man's bidding. Michelle defended the most evil monarch ever, the Brits against Meghan, and so baby choose your heroes carefully. She said the King and Queen were not racist. Bwahaha So, just celebrate where you are.

WBNA might do the kapernick on her. She should be careful.

Trashy with a bad attitude. People are going to remember her for this forever. Shouldn't have said anything about Obama's. Child needs maturity and humility. Take the high road and stop the drama. Be a winner. This girl Shouldn't be doing interviews

She’s great just the way she is. Speaks her mind and doesn’t mince her words.

@6:16PM. Yes, she needs to go back to Jounalism 101. She kept making this about her and kept trying to control the questions. The first thing a good journalist learns is when to be quiet. Gayle King has the same problem. She interrupts her subjects and makes it about herself. Ugh.

If she doesn't go to the White House and have an Eartha Kitt moment she may as well stay away.

She should go to the White House with her team. Stop ruining it for other players. She's not the only player. Also she needs to humble herself. Stop responding to reporters questions. Let her skills do the talking. Plus one bad injury and no one will think or remember her.

When being too woke goes horribly wrong. The media blew this completely out of proportion. No one cares about any of this. The black male did not defend black women, only compared how men are treated versus how women are treated.

Misogynoir is real. Hate toward black women is real. However, being sassy and rude isn't defending yourself. It leans into the stereotype.

@10:58 true but no matter how you present or defend yourself 'they' will ALWAYS lean into the stereotype. They do it to Michele, Kamala, Katanji, etc. Black women always have to bend in order to get respect.

Y’all need to stop. Most of us stand on the shoulders of Black women who were deemed sassy and rude, too woke, ahead of their time, with big mouths. Thank God for women who don’t bend and speak their minds, who will make sacrifices, and who could care less about what we think. Kudos to them.
