Lionel Richie Preparing for King Charles' Coronation

Pop star Lionel Richie preparing to perform for King Charles' May 6 coronation...

From People
Lionel Richie is gearing up for the performance of a lifetime.
The singer, 73, is less than two weeks from performing at the Coronation Concert of King Charles on May 7.
"I'm walking in history," Richie told Extra of the invitation to perform at the event, which will be broadcast live from Windsor Castle the day after King Charles, 74, and Queen Camilla, 75, are crowned at Westminster Abbey.
"I've known King Charles for a while," Richie, who is an ambassador for the King's charity, said. "You never think [that will] translate into a tight 1,800 that will be present, and he calls and says, 'I want you there.' The answer is, 'I'm there. I'm there.' I'm walking in history. This is a moment that he gets to shine. I am very happy for him and the Queen."
The "All Night Long" singer was coy about what his performance will look like.
"I must tell you I can't say a word — it's a royal secret," he shared with the outlet. "They told me, 'Don't reveal.' But I would tell everybody if I could… I am trying my best to contain myself, but it's going to be one in a million times in history to be part of something like this."

@0949 That man is not thinking about nothing Africs. He whitewashed his whole bloodline. After he passes you'll never know there were any black people in that t family. His daughter looks completely white, she turned Jewish to marry her husband. His other daughter married a white man. The brown in that family is gone.

11:43 AM. Because they needed some SOUL @the ceremony. The British monarchy was established by our people. That’s what the castles have black faces carved into them. When I say our people i mean NEGROES. Our history in Europe has been erased. But just so you know Negroes were the ruling class in ALL of Europe prior to the 16th century. All those castles belonged to your ancestors. Negroes are nobility and don’t even know it. READ a book, learn your past. It’s not what they taught us in school.
All of yt history is stolen. All of European history was whitewashed. Statues were bleached. Paintings were changed to put their likeness in our history. They do the same thing today with our music, language, speech, style, etc, etc. the good thing is their time is coming to an end. The bad thin g is our people are so joined to them. Separate yourselves Read the Torah and remember who you are.

Behind closed doors you know yt be on our music. Charles prolly know all the words. I’m surprised he didn’t ask for THE COMMODORES.

That monarchy is DONE. So it was written, so shall it be

Adele and Elton and errrrrybody else turned him down. Team Meghan/Harry has lots of friends and/or sympathizers in the industry. King Charles is a punk.

Lionel Richie is a walking musical genius, who is also a legend across musical genres . . . from R&B, to Pop and even Country. Of course he's going to be there and rightfully so. I can't wait to watch the performance.

@12:05pm

Say it louder for the folks in the back! There's a reason why they called the Medieval period the Dark Ages; it was because dark skinned blacks were the rulers. Look at the etymology for Moors- that was as us. Black ppl are too dayum passive when it comes to what we own and create. Even now, Hispanics and yts are trying to take credit for hip-hop. They got gay looking Asian men pop locking and imitating black artists, and our celebrity gatekeepers are just smiling and c00ning at all the races taking profit and credit for what WE created. If we don't step up and gatekeep blackness then we're going to lose hip-hop, too.

As for Lionel performing, that was the best they could do. No other popular UK artist would accept the invite from King Charles lol. It reminded me of Trumpfs inauguration lol when the best black artist he could get sad Chrisette Michelle - in a choir of other black ppl lmao. The folks in the UK are embarrassed for this coronation and for King Charles; no one likes him or his homewrecking wh0r3 of a queen. I won't be watching and I hope the ratings are low.

I love Lionel, he's a good guy. He saw Nicole when she was a toddler wondering around alone at a concert and he asked her parents could he raise her. He's a really nice man

Thank god his career peaked decades ago, or else he’d end up like Chrisette Michele after this.

Lionel ought to be ashamed of himself. No one wanted to do it but a black man raised in the south is doing it. Does not know that he is black? He messed his face up but he’s still black. I will not be watching
