Really, dude? Really? You fondly recall your known boundaries and you post this for that nostalgia as you wonder if they love and or respect you bc you’re an actor? Dude?

Does he understand that those some racists were unlawfully restricting his access to voting rights, education, fair housing opportunities (to other blacks), and possibly murdered other blacks

Guys don't be so anxious to strike that you miss the point. He told the truth about HIS experience. In my mom's generation that was the experience. There were teachers who were amazing teachers but they came from an old evil culture. In my mom's case, she said they never mistreated her. You all missed the part where he showed how much HUMANITY Blacks had back then. My folks would feed any kid and treat them right like his mom did. He was only trying to show you the irony and contradictions that existed. There were two constants that were always present, inhumanity and humanity. Much of the humanity was on the black side. Truth be told, the most evil teacher I had was Black. Lol The man didn't say anything wrong. I can tell you all had it very easy because those of us who have been through things aren't so judgmental.

He just a boring a@@@ troll..,,what’s wrong with him…he’s clearly poking for a reaction

@ 10:32, The man didn't say Jim Crow was heaven on earth or offer up an analysis of institutional racism, he lived it. He's simply sharing 1 aspect he observed in his life as it pertains to children in that era. He said his white teachers were nice. When my family discussed integration into the white schools I thought they were going to tell me horror stories about the old evil white teachers, but they said they actually had very good teachers. So just because their experience doesn't fit our preconceived notions about a time we did not live in doesn't mean their truth is invalid.l or they are coons. I thank God some black children were treated good because in many instances they were not.

10:48 I know exactly what he’s saying bc I’m from the same area he’s from. He’s a Texan (houstonian, specifically) who at this age should already know all this. Yt people in tx can be your best neighbors, peers, and friends and still be complete racists. Just a fact, then and now. And he’s wondering how they feel about him bc now he’s an actor? Even now, they can still love and respect him as their old neighbor but could still be racists. We then and now are still their exceptions. But his pondering shows he’s clueless around here.

These are normal racial relationships in the south.

@10:55

If some snakes were poisonous and venomous are you going to brag about the few that aren't? That's what Isaiahs logic sounds like. I will defend a racist, I don't give a fck how surface level nice they were. It still doesn't negate the fact that they supported an ideology that encouraged second class citizenship to blacks, and the fear mongering/murdering of racial minorities who had the audacity to seek out better opportunities for themselves and their community. It's this type of backwards @$$ logic that keeps the south segregated to this day. It's this type of logic that keeps gerrymandering alive and institutional racism alive - all these narratives trying to whitewash racism just because they met 5 racists that weren't burning crosses on their lawn, or hanging 10 y/is from trees because they had the courage to desegregate a school. Fck Isaiah and fck you, too, for encouraging the bullshyt! I guess I'm too dayum loyal, cause ain't all the friendliness in the world gonna make me forget the horror that my ancestors had to endure just because they wanted a better life for themselves and future generations.

Fck y'all uncle Tom mfers!

Yeah I said it!

*I will NEVER defend a racist.

I’m the same age as Isaiah or maybe a bit older. I grew up in American Apartheid (aka Jim Crow) and yes, some racist teachers, bus drivers, sales people were kind to us AS LONG AS WE WERE WITH THE PROGRAM and sat in the back of the bus, dressed nice in department stores or at the doctor’s office, didn’t complain when they took cuts in line, said yes sir and ma’am, never ever question a cop when stopped, kept those naps straight, etc.

Of course they were nice. Everything was created so they would succeed and we would fail. Why wouldn’t they be nice?

Isaiah worked hard as an actor and didn’t get his rewards. He thought he could do what YT does (call out a homosexual) and get away with it. He should have kept his mouth shut and did his work. Don Lemon comes to mind.

Isaiah hasn’t accepted how HE HELPED to create this situation. Things will get better for him if and when he accepts that he helped create his misery. Till then we can expect this kind of madness from him.

From a yt perspective: that’s not right for him to do that. Our children don’t need to hear what our forefathers did. That was so long ago. Everything is equal now. I don’t really see what the problem is. That Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan are doing great. Hell look at LeBron James. The country has truly moved forward and they’re still not happy.

So basically he's proud that his mama would feed their kids but their mamas wouldn't throw water on them if they were on fire. And THAT is the exact reason why so many of us are in the position we're in -- because we're just too damn nice and always wanna turn the other cheek when we're constantly slapped in the face. And look where sucking up to them krakka-ass-krakkas got him. Nigga please.

He grew up with some humanity. That’s a blessing.

Anonymous said...

That’s that Texas life. Lights out.

Some of you have the same hearts of the KKK but think it's justified when you haven't experienced a damn thing and are speaking from a place of modern conjecture, not actual life experience. So what you are from Texas, I am from Mississippi, your point? You guys keep missing his point because you so desperately want to hate or be right when it wasn't your experience. My grandparents were Freedom Fighters who actually fought the KKK and so their words trump your opinions. They are in the civil rights books and can be found at university level libraries across the globe, are you found there? No. Learn to listen instead of trying to be right, especially if you were born after 1968. All you have is an opinion when they have lived it.

@12:24

You are a delusional self hating c00n & it's idiots like you that block the progression of racial minorities who were born after 1968. There will never be a story, a surface level friendship, or stories of "humanity" that can or justify the brutality, violence, rape, or fear mongering of our ancestors. You are a graham crakkka of the highest caliber and I hope to God you die by the very hands of the KKK that you and Isaiah support. I had relatives in Louisiana and Alabama who had to flee their homes , businesses, and communities prior to 1968 because yt racists thought that nuccas like my ancestors shouldn't be allowed to own property or businesses that were more successful than their own. So fck you from me and all my ancestors who lost businesses and revenues because uncle Tom b@$tards like yourself who thought that the few bigots were nice enough to befriend and feed. Y'all are ignorant and self hating on a whole other level and I wish the entire blk community could brand you as such. Pick up a cot dayum book and read the WHOLE mfing struggle and not just the 5-7 racists who befriended you cause you shucked and jived on rhythm.

A racist is a racist. It's still present today. Stay woke.

He learned a lot from this racist group by calling TR Knight the F word. He just doesn't know when to shut up

To all the people who defended this fool when he was running off at the mouth. Keep that same energy. Claiming that white people were tearing a good black man down, KEEP THAT SAME ENERGY. Keep marching for fools like this and wonder why no one takes black people seriously.

please have several seats you coon ass nigga!!

Wtf did I just read? Those saltines ain’t thinking about his black a$$. His mama had no choice but to let the little racist eat at her table because she probably didn’t want to end up on a tree branch. I wish I would seek validation from some racist. They are not supporting you Isaiah. Smh

Anonymous said...

They can be very nice as long as you know your place. Nothing new

Anonymous said...

I think he is proud that his parents were not ignorant like those other people. I think he’s proud that his parents had humanity. I think he is proud that he can look at them now in their faces when they know they are wrong, and he can put them to shame. Shame on you people who are oppressed another people. This is what’s bothering the people who oppressed the other.People. Get ready for it, because now they are going to play the victim.

Oooohh. You in trouble now. You know these people don’t like when you tell on them. Now you ain’t gonna be on they tv no mo. But since you tellin. Teri some Mo

I’m the same age as Isaiah also. I grew up in Detroit. We had those crackers under control. Black mayor, black, police, chief, black fire, chief, black city council, black lawyers, black doctors, black restaurants, It was heaven on earth. This was in the 70s 80s and 90s. Not so much now though. They back.

Anonymous said...

I’m glad he’s telling!!

This is why they think its okay. Oh well...

Snitchin AZZ Isaiah.

Anonymous said...

He was abused as a child and it appears to be in a Stockholm syndrome kinda way. Geeez.

Anonymous said...

I”m from Detroit too and we didn’t get control till the 12th Street Riots in 1967. That’s when YT and buisineses left Detroit. Motown and Fords deserted Detroit after making billions off of us.

Yeah, we took over after Coleman Young came in. I liked Coleman. He made all cops live inside Wayne Country and that made a big difference. That’s how we got a Black police force. Things were good till they flooded our neighborhoods with heron (during the Vietnam War) and later they shipped Uzi’s and Crack into the ‘hood. But all this happened near the end of Apartheid in early 70s. Things weren’t all that rosy in the 50s and 60s. JS

At 11:58 you saltine krakka saying everyone is equal? The country has moved forward, but “they” still not happy. Your comment makes no sense which leads me to believe you’re just trolling. Be gone krakka ass krakka! No one cares how your children feel about your/their forefathers! Their forefathers were racists and hateful to blacks and browns so yeah I hope they know what trash their forefathers were and how trash you are!

Anonymous said...

@5:38 I think you misunderstood 11:58's comment. 😀 They were stating how WHITES would react to Isaiah's post.

This is 5:14pm with a follow up. Race relations were horrible during American Apartheid/Jim Crow in Detroit in the 50s and 60s, but at the same time some Black people in Michigan were making money (legally) like a MF.

The Big 3 auto workers (Chrysler, GM, and especially Ford) paid factory workers a living wage in the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Henry Ford paid workers enough money for them to be able to buy the cars they were making and that made a difference. Even though he was redlined, my father was able to buy the home we lived in and another home he rented to other people. He was able build on that and started generation wealth in our family. Ford also invested in education for it’s workers’ children by subsidizing schools with musical instruments and supplies (arts supplies, gym equipment, learning supplies) and this was to ALL schools in Michigan, not just the white schools.

Just wanted to point out that even while race relations were horrible we were making money, building generation wealth, and progressing.
