Prosecutor Argues Tory Lanez Deserves the Harshest Sentence

Earlier this month Canadian rapper Tory Lanez was denied a new trial after his conviction for shooting Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion [click here if you missed that].

Now the prosecutor wants Tory's sentence to reflect his callous disregard for human life...

Prosecutors say Tory Lanez “demonstrated a high level of callousness” when he fired five rounds at Megan Thee Stallion “without any justifiable provocation or reason,” and he deserves more time in prison because of it.
“Victim was dressed in only a bikini, shoeless and on foot in a neighborhood completely foreign to her. It was late at night. She was unarmed and completely defenseless,” according to a new filing Tuesday from Deputy District Attorneys Kathy Ta and Alex Bott. They say Lanez “posed a significant danger to everyone (witnesses and neighbors) in the vicinity of this shooting.”
“The brazenness of Defendant’s conduct is alarming but the conscious disregard for the well-being and safety of all those around him signifies a high degree of indifference for human life,” according to the five-page motion.
Prosecutors are asking Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David Herriford to conclude that three circumstances aggravate Lanez’s crimes and warrant a longer prison sentence: 1) Lanez’s callousness and the great bodily harm he caused Megan 2) His use of of a semi-automatic firearm and 3) Megan’s vulnerability as a victim.
The motion does not recommend a specific number of years in prison. That recommendation will be made in a more expansive memorandum that prosecutors expect to file by June 6.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 13. Legal name Daystar Peterson, 30-year-old Lanez has been in jail without bond since Dec. 23 after a jury convicted him of first-degree assault with a firearm, discharge of a firearm with gross negligence and having a concealed firearm in a vehicle - unregistered.

Let him spend his prison time in Canada. Why should we feed him while he's serving time?

Some people are never the same once they gain some success granted he was popular and well known, had a following in the millions, but he forgot he was just a preachers son from Canada the fumbling of his initial defense reeked of laziness and sense of entitlement he seemed to believe he was going to walk on this with minimal effort so much so that until this day I still go back and forth on rather he was actually that cocky and entitled or if he was really innocent and felt it was obvious for all to see, but I digress that shipped sailed long ago so we must contend with the here and now and in the here and now he did himself no favors with all the challenges and legal maneuvering before sentencing I could be wrong but most people file for appeal and hope to be out on bail pending appeal and in most cases they are granted those requests depending on the crime they may be put on house arrest complete with judicial system supplied jewelry but no the less they get their requests. His maneuverings in the fashion he went about them pissed in the shoes of the prosecution team maybe in Canada you throw money around for high priced mouthpieces but in the states especially if your a Blackman you give them their win and appeal in hopes you can come back and have a judge overturn it or grant a retrial then the onus is on the judge the prosecution did its job to the best of its ability but would be forced to respect the ruling of a judge as is the pecking order but to try and undue the hours and hours of work the prosecution team put into this case and to attempt to undue a conviction that which wins elections and secures jobs in the fashion he did was a bad move now the judge has found his request void of merit to necessitate reconsideration now he is at the mercy of the prosecution going for sentencing and the prosecution is all wound up and looking for some get back ...... good luck Daystar the preachers son from Canada
