Tasha K Files for Bankruptcy

Last year notorious Youtube gossip vlogger Tasha K was ordered to rapper Cardi B $4 million in damages after Cardi sued Tasha for defamation of character [click here if you missed that].

In totally unrelated news, Tasha just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy...

Official documents obtained by The Neighborhood Talk show Tasha and her attorney declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 25, 2023. What does that mean exactly? A chapter 11 debtor usually proposes a plan of reorganization to keep its business alive and pay creditors over time. The plans are designed to keep the business operational during and following the bankruptcy process.
With any application such as this one, a list of assets is required. We learned that Tasha currently has $95 in her chase account. A total of her personal property including purses, cars, clothes, engagement ring, business related properties etc., was equal to $58,595.56. She currently is not being evicted from her home.

Fun Fact: The Bankruptcy Code says that debts based on liability “for willful and malicious injury by the debtor to another entity or to property of another entity” are specifically excluded from the scope of the bankruptcy discharge.

So this whole situation could have been avoided if she would have apologized for her lies and took them down. Her judgment says she still owes even if she files bankruptcy. She was playing go fish, trying to impress Nicki, and Cardi was playing competitive chess. Can’t feel bad for her, she had plenty of chances. Oh well…

...all she had to do was remove the video.

Why some black people like her got against a lite-skinneded person? When I saw her cursing out at the screen lying like cardi stole something from her personally, I knew she had insecurities worrying about another woman v-Jay Jay. I bet she isn’t worried bout no offset with cardi now. Tasha put all this on to herself cause she felt some kind of loyalty to the culture and didn’t want that backlash. I’m not a cardi or BeyoncĂ© fan but I wish cardi took a page out of BeyoncĂ©’s book and treat it like her Rhetorics was beneath her enough to keep winning showing the money.

While this type of Bankruptcy is great for protecting your business assets, she better be careful because BK courts don't play. The quickest way to go to prison is lying on your BK documents. I still can't figure out why her attorney didn't just ask Cardi for a settlement after the judgment and a public apology. Tasha's attorney is just stupid and didn't help her at all.

. She currently is not being evicted from her home.

What does this mean? Eviction is usually for renters does she not own her home? Based on the assets being at 58k that tells me a house is not included in the assets which means she must don’t own a home or her home she was living. Now this is sad cuz I thought Tasha was making money from YouTube you mean to tell me this lady sitting up cutting the coon for less than a coin? This is crazy to me

That decision isn't up to her attorney. Tasha's the one being sued so all the attorney can do is give his/her advice and if she chooses not to take it that's not on her. That's how attorney-client relationships work.

She will be looking over her shoulder for the rest of her life.

That's horrible lawyer advice because the bankruptcy laws make staying on the plan nearly impossible. More than 50% of filers get kicked out of their plan by the trustee the 1st year. What she should have done is A. hand the business over to her husband and become his employee with the earning power of $8 an hour where she doesn't earn enough to garnish wages, or B. Move to Texas where wages cannot be garnished and have everyone pay her in cash because banks are subject to garnishments. Bankruptcy won't help her. Wait, she can try C, and try to have the suit dismissed for economic hardship.

@7:27 you are correct bankruptcy won’t help her. Cardi’s lawyers had it approved that even if she files bankruptcy she still owes it. So trying to get it kicked out because of financial hardship won’t fly either. That’s was done when she went over to Africa flossing saying she was never going to pay, the lawyers were like “ok good to know, let me put this clause in”. Tasha’s loud mouth, lies, and nasty attitude literally wrote a check she can never cash.I blame Nikki for egging her on. Nikki knows she not paying one dime of this judgment, she too busy paying for that pedo murder she married to, but at least Nikki still sitting in her mansion. Tasha out here in the winds with the rest of the birds.

This was a smart move for Tasha now she can shake all her debt and focus on keeping the things she wants to keep in the way of financial liabilities and maintenance her debt to satisfy the judgement the court decision makes her responsible for, everybody else other than those awarded the judgement can petition the bankruptcy court and try to keep her on the hook but in most cases the party filing is granted protection under the bankruptcy code she may or may not be on the hook for the minimum amount of 50k but that could very well be interpreted as applying to the first 50k she owes due to the judgement. She for all intents and purposes has a fresh start financially and can begin to reassess her priorities in the way of financial obligations, hopefully meaning she will focus on service of the debt owed due to the judgement and the remainder of her earnings be utilized to provide her with a quality of living that is acceptable and comfortable to her moving forward. I in her case would still through legal representatives attempt to better the terms of repayment by requesting that interest not apply or by offering an accelerated payment schedule be followed to satisfy the debt owed in exchange for an agreed upon reduction in the balance owed of course all of these terms would need to be agreed upon by both parties.
