Cicely Tyson? Lupita Nyongo was made to play Cicely. I like Teyana but she can’t bring it for Cicerly the way Lupita can. Tika Sumpter might make the cut for Cicely, but not Teyana.

I can see Teyana portray Dionne Warrick. Cicely Tyson is a bit of a stretch. Y’all doing too much! Dionne already gave her the thumbs up so let another beautiful brown actress play the dearly missed and incomparable Cicey Tyson. There is something about Ms. Tyson’s look and slight lisp that can’t be played by just anyone. They tried it when Viola Davis did Michelle Obama and that was just terrible. I still love Viola but that whole lip/lisp thing was weird to see!
