Now there are reports that Tyler is balking at the $3 billion asking price...

Media mogul Tyler Perry refuses to cough up the $3 billion-plus that Paramount is asking in an auction of Black Entertainment Television — and the fierce haggling has begun to throw a sale into doubt, The Post has learned.
The “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” star has been considered the frontrunner to win the auction for BET Group, whose properties include cable channels BET and VH1 along with the BET+ streaming service.
But Perry is losing patience with the drawn-out process after making an offer that’s short of $3 billion — a price tag that other investors also consider to be lofty, according to a source close to the situation.
The filmmaker, who already owns a 25% stake in BET and BET+, has private equity backing for his offer, the insider added.
“He is used to getting his way and is frustrated,” the source said, adding that final bids are due by mid-July.
Perry could not be reached for comment.

I keep saying this isn't the role for him. He's too much of a control freak to do something of this magnitude. He'd burn himself out, because he doesn't know how to step back and let others run things while he oversees them.
So basically, someone placed Puffy, Bryon Allen and 50 to bid on the network sale to inflate the bidding price?!?! Figures. That's a dirty game and as Tupac says, "Trust No One"!!! They'll always pit the black man against black man. What a shame.
Considering how much work Tyler placed in that network, I hope he won't give up but if he walks away, then I'll totally understand and then BET will fail. As the gospel says, If he did it once, he will do it again. Praying for your success Tyler!

This is what happens when you are spoiled and celebrate too early. The saudis could just swoop in and take it if they want. People need to humble themselves.
He did not celebrate at all. He confirmed his eagerness and heavy interest in it and everyone else was celebrating and speaking too soon. Doing what Tyrese did with Dr. Dre.
There is still time and room for negotiations. I hope he is able to be the new owner. It’s Black Entertainment Television and should be owned by a black person.
