Eh.. I don't know. There was something about the way Monique handled it that didn't sit right with me. I support the actors and writers striking cause they took it directly to the studio heads (the folks in charge) & didn't try to create a PR narrative that the public *had* to boycott streaming services or movies. If Monique had taken a group of black women, or black ppl, and went to studio heads with their demands then I might have felt a little differently. With the writers strike, their grievances are understandable - some of our favorite creatives are barely early $40k a year in Hollywood; $40k a year is considered poverty in most states, let alone Cali, where the cost of living requires an income of at least $250k/year to survive in basic amenities.
Handled what? She just gave an opinion. She isn’t striking. Separate you’re not liking someone from the actual situation that is taking place. Supporting them has absolutely nothing to with someone else simply giving an opinion. You people are the reason why you can’t evolve..
F Monique. Time and time she have demonstrated she is bitter, stupid for staying married to some weirdo she calls daddy in public. She is the type of person that could be saying something worth hearing but wtf wants to deal with her. She was a whole turn off how she waited to have her moment with DL and then drag his daughter. When grown people are able to resolve their differences they usually move on. Outside people will bring up something that has nothing to do with the present situation to justify a mute point sounding stupid.
The actors striking are doing what Mo did and now they know what she felt. Being unheard and not taken seriously.
Imagine yourself in those shoes then talk that same mess. You wouldn’t even be able to handle it. Mo is a survivor and has a husband unlike most who is her rock.
