Jason Derulo left an aspiring popstar 'traumatized' after she signed a deal with him and later realized he expected sex in return, according to a bombshell new lawsuit.
Emaza Gibson, now 25, said she was thrilled when the 'Whatcha Say' singer promised her a record deal in 2021 - until it became apparent there were strings attached, according to suit filed in Los Angeles County Court seen by NBC.
'I'm at this point in my life right now, it's very heartbreaking,' Gibson said in an interview with the broadcaster.
'I have anxiety; I'm traumatized. I've dealt with inhumane work situations. … I'm at this point where I'm back to zero and I have nothing.'
Iowa-born Gibson alleges that Derulo, 34, dumped her record deal after she rejected his sexual advances and invitations to go for drinks. She accuses him of quid pro quo sexual harassment.
At the time, Derulo had been dating Jena Frumes, the mother of his young son. The couple welcomed a baby boy, named Jason King, on May 8, 2021.
They split in September 2021 - just a month after Derulo approached Gibson, who was at the time in a band with her sisters called Ceraadi.
Frumes later hit out at Derulo accusing him of cheating around that time.
