“I have beautiful children, but our necessity for [men] in our life is very minimal,” she continues. “It's not all that it's cracked up to be. It's not giving what it was supposed to have gave!”
Kimora was only 23, “a child bride,” when she married Russell (“I joke but it’s not funny,” she says), and they divorced when their children were still young. She was with actor Djimon Hounsou for five years in her 30s and, from 2014 until last year, she was married to former Goldman Sachs investment banker Tim Leissner, who is currently a key witness in a $4 billion fraud case. (In 2021, Russell sued Kimora and Leissner, accusing them of stealing his stocks from the energy drink company Celsius to cover Leissner’s bail. Last year, it was reported a judge ordered Russell to pay Kimora $100,000 in legal fees. Meanwhile, it was revealed that Leissner had faked divorce papers, and was still married to his ex when he wed Kimora.) “I'm so bruised by it all,” she says. “I feel like I've run into con artists every step of the way.”
She says that she has not spoken to Russell in a few years, and she does not co-parent with any of her children’s fathers. When she looks back on her relationships, she can see how she might seem like the common denominator. “It looks like, ‘Well, it's all you, all fingers point to you, lady. You're the one.’ I guess it is me, but I think it has more to do with my personality or my stance in society. Something about powerful men and how they really appear to be powerful and big and this and that. But they're nursing an ego inside of there. Not just these men, any men. Men, powerful men, famous men, rich men, business rich men, whatever you want to call it. There's a thing there and I don't know what it is, but I don't really have a great relationship with any of them and they've left me to it to just kind of do things on my own. I do everything on my own. Like I say, I'm a single mom.”

That’s why whether married or single, make sure you always have your own.
LOve her ambition and her ability to recreate herself but I have to say this her picker may have been under developed with the first one but the second and third have to be the result of ignoring red flags your supposed to get better at things like this after experiences that don't play out well some even error on the side of being too careful but she is not but moving the in the exact opposite direction Russ might have been a turd but the lifestyles was hypnotizing but number two couldnt transition into the big screen idol she envisioned and ended up with a starving artist number three was another play for stability and restoration of the quality of life one introduced her to and she leveraged her way out of that situation with some bad karma causing techniques that and a bit of desperation to get back were back to living she once was and just get caused a very poor decision to be made by her and it linked her to the worst character of the bunch with the worst character imaginable bigamy, theft, fraud you name it she really out did herself in the bad pick department.

12:02 she adopted him. I remember her son was depressed and noticed he looked different from his other siblings. And I’m sure he was probably one of the few black children attending his school etc. Kimora spoke on it. So I think she adopted Gary so that Kenzo would have a sibling close in age that look like him.

Since when is age 23 considered a "child bride"? She had been an adult for 5 years at that point. It's considered young now that her kids are that age.
I always liked Kimora because she has shown she is a very good mother. Besides one of the daughters dragging her pops when she feels she needs to, you dont hear about her kids and they are beautiful. Kimora is probably one of those women who dont need a man, She been thru it with them husbands of hers

I thought she was called the child bride because she closed the 1989 Chanel fashion show as "The Bride" when she was 14 y/o while she was under the tutelage of Lagerfeld. That’s probably when she caught Russell’s attention.
