Mariah Carey and her longtime boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, have called it quits because he wanted kids, a source tells Page Six exclusively.
We are told that the age gap of 14 years played a role with Tanaka, 40, wanting different things than Carey, 54.
“He wants to have a family. That’s not where she is at,” says the source.
Carey shares 12-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with her ex-husband Nick Cannon. Tanaka, on the other hand, does not have children of his own.
The “Fantasy” singer and backup dancer were together for seven years.
Eyebrows were raised this week when the Queen of Christmas went on her annual trip to Aspen, Colo., solo.
Tanaka was also missing from her “Merry Christmas One and All!” tour that started in November at the Yaamava Resort & Casino in Highland, Calif.
Tanaka worked as a dancer with Carey starting in 2006 and they started dating in 2016.
“He wants to start having his own life,” another source told us of the split.
The Grammy winner and Tanaka were last spotted together during her birthday in March.

I don't blame Mariah. She's done with all that. Her kids are half grown. She's half way into her 50s and has no need to have another kid. Dude needs to go find some woman in her 20s or 30s and call it a day
Men forget how easy it is for them to walk away from relationships and fatherhood. For women, if it doesn't work out, that amounts to single motherhood, which is hard AF. That's why I got my tubes tied. I refuse to be fooled and trapped into single motherhood a second time, my child is almost grown. I'm good on that.
Mariah said you aren't about to Halle Berry, Britney Spears? and Kelly Clarkson me and have me paying you 45,000 a month. Lol Mariah said toodles.
I've had a few guys try to hit me with the "let's have a baby" line and my response is always the same- "If I have your baby and we break up, I'm leaving the kid with you and paying you child support." They all magically stop talking about starting a family after that. I wonder why?
