Jonathan Majors is explaining why he keeps bringing Coretta Scott King's name into his relationships ... telling us Martin Luther King's widow is an inspiration.
The actor invoked Coretta's name in his first sit-down interview since being found guilty of assault and harassment, drawing the ire of Coretta and MLK's daughter ... and now he's responding to pushback.
Jonathan tells TMZ ... "My intention was to convey my utmost respect for Coretta Scott King, her achievements, and both her personal legacy and the one she shares with her husband, Dr. Martin Luther King."
In his ABC interview, Jonathan praised girlfriend Meagan Good for sticking by his side ... saying, "She's an angel ... she's held me down like a Coretta. I'm so blessed to have her."
As we reported ... Dr. Bernice King seemingly called out Jonathan online after the interview aired, posting ... "My mother wasn't a prop."
Now, Jonathan tells us Coretta "is a great woman, a very important figure in American and world history, and someone both Meagan and I are inspired by and deeply admire."
Jonathan's trial also included audio clips where he's telling his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari to be more like Coretta and Michelle Obama. Jabbari's the woman he was convicted of assaulting and harassing.

I thought his 15 minutes were up. If he don’t take his 1935 dressing self on somewhere and disappear for a few years. The women he date will clearly fall for anything which Michelle and Coretta did not. Just stop it sir.

Jonathan is a young man and I'd be flattered if he admired my mom in an era where young folks vaguely remember her. By him mentioning Mrs. King, young folks will google her and keep her name alive. Edgar Hoover, raising babies and keeping the home together by herself not to mention she was dealing with all those flimmerflamming wimmens who were trying to give her man their goodies. Lol , so it is disrespectful to admire someone.
It is disrespectful to admire a woman who stood by her husband under extremely stressful and dangerous times.
It is disrespectful to admire a woman , that after her husband was assassinated and her world turned upside down , she continued to persevere with grace and strength.
It is disrespectful for a man to admire those qualities in that great woman and want his girlfriend/wife to emulate those qualities.
So , now , people get to tell other people who they can admire and use as role models.

A successful situation that I have learned about in the past was with Dr Martin Luther King and his wife Coretta. I want to be great like Dr King and I want you to be more like his wife Coretta. Being a lady at all times , being supportive , working with me and not against me. (I am paraphrasing)
Because as the saying goes , behind ever great man , there is a great woman.
Now , if this grown woman doesn't want to/or can't follow that , then she can leave , no one is holding her hostage. But if she decides to stay , then , try to emulate the role model that he suggested.

Being supportive and working with your significant other/spouse is based on race.

How much work was Jonathan doing to be the Dr King to his "Coretta"? 😁 Those of you defending his hypocrisy, have conveniently forgotten the context in which he spoke those words. He was trying to manipulate her into NOT going to the hospital. He wanted her to ignore her health in order to protect HIMSELF. Is that something Dr King would have done? 🤔

So factually , you are incorrect. When debating , one must come with the facts. I am debating the belief that Mr Majors could not use a person he admired and suggest his significant other should try to emulate said person.

I think Jonathan is so very handsome and a great man! He picked a white woman because imagine what he got from black women growing up about his looks. So he went to women who accepted him and I don’t blame him for that. As a black woman I would have loved and accepted him then and now. I do believe their real was toxic and in the past it was mutually combative. The only thing that should have been on trial is the evidence of that night not past issues. I will always support Jonathan Majors and Megan is a smart woman and sees the greatness in him!!!
