Yasiin Bey Raises Eyebrows with Fashion Week Performance


Last weekend Hip Hop icon Yasiin Bey, formally known as Mos Def, called out rapper Drake for appealing to consumers and said he was not Hip Hop because of it [click here if you missed that].

This week Yasiin raised eyebrows by performing for the epitome of consumerism, Paris Fashion Week...

This headline doesn't even make sense. I'm struggling to find the controversy in this. Just because someone performs at an event doesn't make them a hypocrite. It's not like Mathematics is a pop song.
