Mo'Nique Says Taraji P. Henson Got More Sympathy with the Same Message About Pay Disparity

Last year Taraji P. Henson admitted she almost quit acting over the huge disparity in pay for Black actresses [click here if you missed that].

Mo'Nique says Taraji received more empathy than she did with same message about the disparity in pay for Black actresses...

Apples and oranges. Netflix could prove that MoNique wasn't as big a draw as their top talent and that's why she was not worth the same amount of money.

IS THAT Why She Won Her Case ?

She had to fight for that deal.

A lot of YT people who are not funny and are not a "draw" get specials. Mo curses too much for me but Black women are not paid right.

More impactful from Taraji because she's talented actress and Mo is a wack comedian.

@7:51 She absolutely did not win her case. Mo appeared on Netflix but without Amy Schumer's $25,000,000 paycheck and without Amy's huge promotional budget. She is not considered an equal to their top tier talent and was paid accordingly. The metrics don't work out for her to make that kind of money.

Monique is on point and I don't particularly care for her brand of comedy, either. Taraji comes across as a sincere and likeable person so the public is apt to believe her more than Monique.

Audiences of certain people [insert names here] that found her comments about those people, as well as her behavior and gestures, offensive were turned off by her. I doubt that most of them would pay to hear/see her for those reasons alone.

The Delivery Of The Message Is What Is Important, It is Sometimes The Way A Person Gets Their Point Across, That Determines How It Is Received... Taraji came as a Broken Woman ~ Monique Comes Across As Aggressive

Taraji cried and being weak evokes sympathy. Mo’Nique stood ten toes down defending herself and people hated that.

It wasn’t just about the Netflix deal Monique complained about the pay and treatment she received from Lee Daniel Tyler Perry and Oprah.

After calling out DLHughley’s daughter for her own trauma, I will never sympathize with Mo, this complainer.

Sorry, Netflix folded and gave her time and she totally proved that she sucks. Not funny at all and all the thumbs down she got speak loud.

The answer is simple, Taraji appears more sincere and genuine, while Monique is constantly having a grievance or complaint. Monique's argument is usually attached to a shakedown. She wanted Netflix to pay her and yesterday during her Club Shay Shay interview she said Tyler Perry needed to pay her for her pain & suffering. That's a shakedown. I listened to the phone call that Monique claims TP admitted to guilt but I heard no such thing. More like TP was trying to play peacemaker and Monique twisted his words.

When it comes to money, nobody cares about how nasty or nice that a person can be. Both can be done dirty.

Taraji cried and it made them feel sympathy. You shouldn’t have to break down in tears to get what you deserve from him the jump. She did that after accepting the role so they couldn’t replace her, ruining production. She doesn’t have a man to hold her down because they are too busy competing.
Saying Mo is a complainer when we all how the people behind the scenes roll, is wack.

TP and Oprah cut Mo when she wanted extra pay to promote her own film when that is traditionally what you're supposed to do as part of your package. People in Hollywood saw what Mo did and cut her off because she proved not to be dependable. (Do white people ask to be paid for promotion? Not if they want to work again.) Mo effed up her own career.

Where’s the lie?

An actress comes across as sincere and likable. 🀦🏿‍♀️. You know it could possibly be an act. Where has Mo’nique not come across as the same? It’s fine to like who you like.
But accusing someone of not being likeable because of them having a particular experience and speaking on it means they’re unlikeable. Don’t worry about answering it. You’re welcome to think however you think.

@Vernell. So the only way to receive a message from a black women means she must convey it in a way that shows she’s broken? And you think Mo’Nique is the problem? Your whack and limited thinking is the problem.

When Asking For What You Deserve Is A Complaint & Makes YOU Unlikable?

Back To The Fields BUCK !!

The problem is she didn't deserve what she wanted.

A few said it above. If a black woman like Monique speaks up for herself, we are called aggressive, loud, angry, bitter etc. But if we come off as docile, meek, and crying, then it’s the only way we can get somewhat acknowledged. And even that doesn’t work all the time. And let’s not forget Monique is an actress as well. Not just a comedian.
