NAACP Image Awards Puts Out Clarion Call for Black Celebrities

Over the weekend lots of Black recording artists were disappointed after walking away from the Grammy Awards empty handed [click here if you missed that].

The NAACP Image Awards implores Black creatives to pull up where you are celebrated...

I haven't watched the Grammy's in years. I really don't listen to the music out. I still love my old school artists that don't have record deals. Celebrate our own! #AnythingMotown #EarthWindandFire #TheWhispers #AtlanticStarr #MidnightStar #EtcEtc

Another organization that are now giving out awards like door prizes. It doesn’t even feel the same. I don’t know how idolizing anyone advances the efforts of colored people. Because you have strayed away from the message, as with most groups. The NAACP has lost his relevancy

Yes, go where you are celebrated not negated. ✌️🙌🙌

I’m here for the NAACP awards. Sometimes that’s the only recognition talented Black people receive. Of course we should embrace them and it’s a shame they’re out here begging Black entertainers to show up.

A lot of Black entertainers don’t want to be associated with the NAACP. Until they need them, that is.

4:24 AM, True that.
I never hear of NAACP doing any groundwork in the community when Blacks are struggling to fight for justice.
It's always Rev Al and Attorney Ben Crump on the scene to call out Yt ppl and the police for injustice.

I have not watched the grammy's or any of those white award shows in years, I don't know why some of our people, so desperately seek white validation, they are still under the spell of sleep, the infant pale race are a minority on this planet in fact 12% of the world's population, but they control ass the media outlet to mass propagate their numbers, for those of us who know our real history vs his-story. While I have no ill will toward the infant pale race, as the so-called black godz, we also the first devils on this planet, and have done so much evil within our own race. The infant's time on this planet is up, his cursed rulership over the black god for his disobedience, has come to an end, and I'm here for it.

I'm going to leave this here....this is the same BET that made fun of a young Black girl's natural hair (Blue Ivy), implying that natural, un-relaxed hair is ugly. It was hurtful, and ignorant. They are only doing this to ride the wave off of Jay-Z's speech at the Grammys.
