Last week returning Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Porsha Williams filed for divorce, ending her 15 month marriage to Nigerian businessman Simon Goubadia just days after his extensive criminal history was exposed, when he was denied U.S. Citizenship for the fourth time because of his record [click here if you missed that].
Real Housewives of Atlanta producer Andy Cohen claims he and the other producers were blindsided by this negative turn of events, because Porsha's storyline after turning from a 3-year-hiatus was supposed to be her 'happily ever after...'

Andy Cohen was “taken aback” by news of Porsha Williams’ divorce.
Speaking on the latest episode of SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live,” the Bravo honcho revealed that he and the other “Real Housewives of Atlanta” producers were not kept in the loop about the reality star’s marital woes before she pulled the plug on her marriage.
“First of all, Porsha announced last week that she is leaving Simon and I gotta tell you something, I was saying to the other producers of ‘Atlanta,’ when the news started breaking about Simon and some of his immigration issues, I was like, ‘This is not…’ I was so surprised.”
Cohen also denied that the Bravolebrity’s relationship was a factor in her upcoming return to “RHOA.”
“None of us knew any of this was on the horizon and this was really meant to be Porsha’s happily ever after kind of victory lap season,” he said. “So it’s just, I was so surprised and taken aback and listen, we wanted Porsha on the show for Porsha.”

This could still be her "happily ever after" considering you don't need to be married to be happy.
Well I don’t watch this but as someone who continues to live happily ever after, doing so is not that exciting or interesting. I love my boring love which would not have a great storyline, so marital woes like these are far more interested for someone looking for a reality show
Sooooooo in order for her to return, they got rid of Marlo, Kandi (that heffa love money & the show is free advertisement for her other projects- she didn't just walk away), upped her salary AND made a deal with her to partner with NBCUniversal Entertainment for scripted project opportunities across the company’s broadcast and streaming properties just for her to come back & show us how happy she is? They Knew.....
It feels as if she was planning this divorce all along and was waiting for the ink to dry on her Bravo contract before she revealed it to the public. No matter what, I'm watching.
Nobody - and I mean NOBODY - watches reality TV, and for damn sure no THIS reality TV show, to witness anybody's happily ever after. They watch it because they love to see drama, chaos, Black women degrading themselves and engage in bad behavior. FOH.

I definitely think Andy knew about the immigration issues long before the divorce because Porsha probably begged for her job back with the agreement she will provide good entertainment. She had to give Andy something juicy because remember she was scared to get dragged about committing adultery with Simon and so she quit Bravo?
So, she probably agreed this time to share everything now.Now, she has had 2 failed marriages and one out of wedlock birth on Bravo.
No woman married to a guy she thinks is worth $250 to$400 million will go back to reality t v. and so she's known for a long time that Simon wasn't rich.Net Jets cut them off February 2023 and demanded they pay $1 million because Simon only paid 1 payment on the time share jet they were using.
@1:27, you sure do see it! No body FILES for divorce upon getting upset about something they discovered literally a few days before the filing, especially if you have assets. Porsha had to DECIDE to get divorced first. Then speak to an attorney to find out how this effects her & her new deals. The divorce attorney would have to ask if she is still in love with him before they filed anything bc they don't want to do a whole lot of work and the divorce never happens. Then the attorney must discus their contract with Porsha. The decision to divorce part alone takes more than a few days. This all seems planned to me.
