Jill Scott Lavishes Praise on Chris Brown

Over the weekend Chris Brown annihilated Migos rapper Quavo with his scathing diss track, "Weakest Link," in their ongoing beef that started over Karrueche Tran, who Chris is accused of abusing throughout their relationship [click here if you missed that] .

Neo-Soul singer Jill Scott was very impressed...

CB is talented no matter what anybody has to say..he has made some mistakes in his life no doubt .. Talent is talent.

They tore her up on twitter too. They called her a talented bird and abuse apologist.

So everyone deserves redemption except Chris??? Hypocrites.

What he did to Quavo was beyond domestic violence, it was pretty much prison grape 🍇!
That’s up there with Ice Cube “no Vaseline.”

CB despite his failings, is an extremely talented entertainer, and performer. That can be never taken from him, and hopefully he redeems himself.

I truly believe that Chris Brown is a terrible person, but I love his music and he's extremely talented. Wouldn't tap him with another woman's sn@tch tho.

Chris Brown is a triple threat talent, sing, dance and act. He was very young when the one incident happened that has been a shadow over him for the longest, and if the person he offended can forgive him people need to let it go, Thank God he has a tough skin and Jill Scott wasn't wrong he's very talented

@10:31

That abuse wasn't a one-off thing though. He's continued his inexcusable behavior so stop being an apologist like Jill.

People may say he made mistakes but the problem is that he never learned or grew from them. If he can’t or won’t do that, how talented he is doesn’t matter.

Dam, Jill. Just because YOU got away from an abuser and had “years of therapy, self reflection & making every effort to keep feet on ground” doesn’t mean everyone has help available to them.

Jill knows better than to praise an abuser only because he can sing and dance. Wonder how her mama feels about her abuser. Dam, Jill.

Heinous act(ions) of some people are excused. Not so much for others.

@1:26 THIS comment! Like Omg, are we that brainwashed in todays world to just supply passes to anyone just because they have “talent”. Chris is always going to deal with strife and anguish from his mistakes until he fixes his behavior…period. His demise and constant dark cloud over his career/life is on brand with the system wants, so let’s stop with the “others have gotten away with worse” narrative because others like him haven’t. As long as he is a black man in America, he will always remain a target…period. Chris is just dumb enough to willingly allow himself to remain that target smh.

Keep in mind, I was once a HUGE fan of his until I got older and matured and realized he was his own problem. *shrugs*

So happy I am not famous I made several public mistakes in my teens and all was forgiven thank God and I was able to move forward without all the judgment now in my adulthood.

Chris Brown is a violent, unstable idiot. But he makes music and art that I enjoy. Like Jill, I can separate the art from the artist.

1:26 AM, That part.
In order to forgive you need to change for the better to receive grace. Going after another man negatively over a woman that left him does not show growth. I don't care about his talent. This buck tooth ninja is despicable regardless of his talent.

Oh grow up!
Constantly tearing someone down because of their past wrong doings is childish. What has he done to keep being dragged about old ish!? Nothing. The boy didn’t R. Kelly or Puffy anyone. He has feelings that people like to provoke and then go ‘See! See! See! I told you, he didn’t change!’
People love antagonizing others because their temperament is different.
The young man is talented and it’s undeniable.

@12:01 Chris brown is that you sis? 👀 The selective criticism and outrage on this site is disgusting. Y’all have a titty attack when Beyonce announces new music and products but a man with a violent history from his adolescent years to adult years (y’all forgot that most recent usher situation I guess huh?) needs to be forgiven because he’s talented? Ha! Have an arena of seats. The jokes write themselves. Yes he is talented and yes he definitely deserves forgiveness and the upmost grace and prayer but this coddling and enabling of continued bad behavior of his many other stars alike needs to stop. It’s sickening at this point.

God AND Rhianna forgave Chris years ago.....Who TF are you to keep holding dumb grudges like scorn, jilted Becky's. Grow up and get over yourselves. There are millions checking for CB and rooting for his growth.

Jill is strictly focusing on his talent, which cannot be denied. Even the Bible says that gifts are without repentance(Romans 11:29). Whatever gifts God gives are for life, they are not disannulled by our actions. So, you can acknowledge that an individual has a gift apart from the way their life is lived. Simply acknowledging the obvious does mean that you agree with every aspect of their life.

Doesn’t mean that you agree…..

I meant to say, at 4:41pm, that simply acknowledging the obvious does NOT mean that you agree with every aspect of their life.
