Siedah Garrett Erased From Michael Jackson Biopic

Gifted singer / songwriter Siedah Garrett, who was featured on the debut single from Michael Jackson's 1987 "Bad," album, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You," and who co-wrote his pivotal smash, "Man in the Mirror," from the same album will NOT be mentioned in his upcoming big screen biopic...

Garrett broke the news on social media after inquires from her fans, and also said the snub has inspired her to tell her story.

I love Siedah's work. She's a very talented songwriter and whenever I hear that beat from she and Dennis Edward's song, I immediately get happy. I wonder what was the problem with not including her in the movie? Was it money?

Everyone that was a part of MJ's life and music career can't be in every movie we don't need to hear or see again.

Even better… just write the book. All the characters in his life can’t fit the script

Besides his sisters and Diana, Michael collaborated with or openly showed loved to very few women of color. She was one of them and deserves recognition. This could be a blessing in disguise and I agree she should tell her own story in her own words.

Of course, this biopic is completely white washed. The kid playing him is biracial and so is his nephew playing MJ in his older years. Might as well ask Drake to play him! MJ’s story will never be told correctly after Lawrence Washington and Angela Bassett. Jason Weaver was the closest to Michael as a kid. I definitely won’t waste my time watching it.
