Keefe D Seeks Dismissal in Tupac Case

Two years ago West Coast gangbanger, "Keefe D," was arrested for the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur [click here if you missed that].

Now Keefe has filed a motion to dismiss...

Carl E.G. Arnold, representing Duane "Keefe D" Davis, has filed a motion to dismiss all charges related to the shooting of Tupac Shakur.
The motion, submitted in the District Court of Nevada, claims that Davis's constitutional rights have been violated due to a 27-year delay in prosecution, lack of corroborating evidence, and failure to honor immunity agreements granted by federal and local authorities.
The filing argues that the State of Nevada has unjustifiably delayed prosecution, resulting in irreparable harm to Davis's ability to defend himself.
It states that key witnesses are deceased and critical evidence has been lost, significantly impairing the fairness of any trial.
Furthermore, the motion highlights a proffer agreement between Davis and federal authorities in 2008, which guaranteed immunity for information he provided regarding the case.
Davis has long been known to investigators and has himself admitted in interviews and in his 2019 tell-all memoir, "Compton Street Legend," that he was in the Cadillac where the gunfire erupted during the September 1996 drive-by shooting.
Shakur was 25 when he was gunned down.
He said his nephew Orlando Anderson was the shooter. Anderson was killed in a gang-related shooting in Compton in 1998.
