Dawn slams her ex husband for hitching a ride on her viral moment...
From People
Dawn Robinson has received quite a bit of attention since revealing she's lived in her car for the past three years.
After she shared the news in a YouTube video last month, fans have rallied around the 58-year-old En Vogue alum — and her ex-husband, Andre "Dre" Allen, spoke to TMZ about wanting to offer her a job in hospitality, the industry in which he currently works.
However, Robinson — who was married to Allen from 2003 through 2010 — tells PEOPLE the former IV Xample member "did not offer me anything."
"I haven't heard from this man. I don't know what he's talking about," she says, claiming Allen speaks publicly about her "every single time I have anything going on."
"He has to get his shine on my coattails, and the fans are handling him just fine," adds Robinson. "I haven't had to say a word to him."
Allen did not respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
In his interview with TMZ, Robinson's ex-husband claimed he previously offered the opportunity to the "Free Your Mind" performer and noted it includes "free medical from day one" and "PTO to juggle her career."
But she has other plans for the future. "I'm working on my own career. I'm working on my book. I have other things that I'm working on that I haven't talked about," explains Robinson, who also wants to return to performing — "but not right away."
First, Robinson wants to release a memoir and/or documentary about her experience in the next one-to-two years. "I have so much footage from my car. I just about have it all done. I just pretty much need an editor and maybe some external shots," she says, adding that she's been in touch with a network about the film project since sharing her YouTube video.
