Two years ago former daytime talk show host Wendy Williams was placed under a court ordered financial guardianship in response to her son abusing access to her bank accounts [click here if you missed that].
Now the brief two sentence doctor's note Wells Fargo used to obtain the guardianship has surfaced online....
Court records show that in 2022, before the guardianship was filed, Wendy’s psychiatrist Rami Kaminski wrote a letter to her financial advisor, Lori Schiller. The letter stated that Wendy, who had been his patient for over a year, appeared unable to make “reasoned decisions,” with her insight and judgment described as “severely impaired.”
A source close to the situation tells The Shade Room that this letter, submitted to Wells Fargo Bank, was instrumental in the decision to establish guardianship, which stripped Wendy of her rights and isolated her from her loved ones. The source believes the letter reflects a “premeditated” effort to undermine Wendy’s independence.
“These two sentences from a doctor shouldn’t be enough to take away someone’s rights. This document should never have been shared with a financial advisor or a bank,” the source told TSR.
It was further revealed that the guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, was appointed from the start rather than being selected from a list of court-appointed guardians. The source claims that when Wendy attempted to fire her financial advisor and manager, guardianship was used as a form of manipulation. They believe the two were working together, as the manager was later arrested for using Wendy’s credit card without her permission.
