Earlier this year former music exec Kevin Liles was hit with an explosive lawsuit accusing him of sixually assaulting one of his Def Jam subordinates [click here if you missed that].
Now Liles is accusing former Def Jam artist, Lady Luck, of threatening to write a tell-all book about him unless he pays her $30 million...
There’s some smoke to her accusations… but that’s every body in the music biz… it looks like she’s decided to jump on the civil suit bandwagon in hopes of at the very least getting a financial settlement.
The biggest takeaway for me in that Diddy trial to date, is that whoever holds the power to make a person famous, those in their inner circle and the artists that they represent, will tolerate all sorts of abuse, and engage in illegal activity in order to hang on to that lifestyle. Kevin Lisles, you and Diddy are friends. Therefore, I don't believe you. Your argument, Kevin Lisles, and Lady Luck's accusations on one hand, and continued praise of you on the other, seems to be a common theme in that industry to prevent being blackballed.
