Tina Knowles Speaks on the Rumi Carter Incident

Three weeks ago Tina Knowles raised eyebrows after seemingly scolding her granddaughter, Rumi Carter, on stage for interrupting Beyoncé while she was trying to congratulate Tina on her New York Times Best Selling memoir "Matriarch [click here if you missed that]."

Tina addresses the viral moment....

Tina explains to Gayle King,
"People have written all kinds of narratives about it, but actually it was real. I mean it's real life, you know? Grandmas don't play. No, it really wasn't that. It was just that she was reaching for the mic because she wanted to say something, and I realized that, but she was pulling, and I was like, 'Oh god. That's all that needs to happen is the mic hits her in the face, and they say Beyoncé hit her in the face with the mic.'"

Whatever. She thinks she way more important and relevant than she is. She needs to go saddown and knit a quilt or something.

And they try so hard to pretend that child isn't special needs. And there's nothing wrong with that. It just proves how detached they are from being real, honest and relatable. Always wearing a mask of perfection. Smh

Who really believed that Ms.Tina was wrong for scolding an overly anxious child? Young children are wildlings and it's the parents/grandparents job to guide them. Where were all these busybodies when Big Mama made me get the switch? Lol.

I guess Rumi will be irrelevant like her aunt Solange

Rumi is not "special needs", please! She's an overenthusiastic little kid who is just learning the rules of celebrity. Tina needed to tune her up a little. This is going to happen until she's understanding what it means to live public.

That was nothing. Anyone who thinks that was “scolding” don’t have no kids

Rumi make B more real appearing, if that makes sense,,, She's not hiding Rumi. Tinna did what she has to do at that moment,,,
