Looks like they lightened or darkened his skin tone. I'm sure it was the lighting.

The illustrations were created using different types of media. The images and videos were created with modern technology. Unless there's an original somewhere, it's hard to tell what people really looked like during that period in time.

I'm so proud of all the Black historical ppl that opened the door for all of us ppl of color. Without them would not have made it this far. Even though the present administration is trying to send us backwards. LOLO
