A California man was arrested by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) with 78 pounds of marijuana after he said he made a wrong turn onto the Peace Bridge Sunday, according to CBP.
Ronald Nunn, 43, was driving a rental truck and following directions on his phone that were mistakenly leading him to Canada when he encountered CPB officers. He told them his truck was empty before further inspection allegedly revealed 60 vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana in three cardboard boxes.
The 78 pounds of marijuana had an estimated street value of $230,000.
Nunn was processed by CBP and turned over to Buffalo police. He is expected to face felony charges for criminal possession of cannabis.
