Not knowing fully what the background is on Des and her daughter, but Demoree seemed pretty lucid there to me and she was asking valid questions. I have a friend who has an overbearing mother and even though she was an adult way into her 40's, her mom pulled some BS like this. There's a term for parents like this that seek to keep control over their adult children and want them to live their lives exactly how they want them to: "narcissistic parent." Google it. Some parents cannot just let their adult children live their lives and make their own mistakes. They must control the entire narrative.
