This is great - speak about Lincolnville, South Carolina too - founded by 7 black men - still in existence today. https://www.lincolnvillesc.org/history-of-lincolnville. There is also a book written about the town: https://books.google.com/books/about/The_History_of_Lincolnville_South_Caroli.html?id=XD6aGAAACAAJ&source=kp_book_description

Sad to hear the hospital is closed. My children have an all black American healthcare team and I absolutely love it! The care is top tier.

They found Egyptian artifacts in the Grand Canyon and allll kinds of black artifacts all over this land. The fact that there were blacks here b4 Columbus (if he existed) is well known.

I have a love/hate for posts like these. I love our history and I love that we have access to it. What I don't love is the paranoia that comes with it for me. We are so used to them lying and stealing everything we have that I just feel like once they know something they begin plotting to take it no matter how small it is. I friggin hate it! Thanks so much for the post though. Reading this makes me want to go see Sinners now. I have not see it yet.

Sad to heat about the railroads being dismantled. That community could've achieved unspeakable success but those krakkas take everything from us because they fear us and know our strength knows no bounds.

My grandfather was born raise and later in his life he came here to Chicago for a better way of life. He would always go back once/twice yearly back to where he was born-see about his mother-sister/niece I remember when he and my grandmother would go down there, I never wanted to go so I was left back to stay with my aunt until they return. I remember being told his mother lives right at the graveyard and I remember him saying he had a bathroom -toilet built because they always used the outhouse.
