Diddy to Remain in Jail Until October Sentencing

Today Bad Boy Entertainment CEO, Sean 'Diddy' Combs was acquitted on human trafficking and RICO charges while still being found guilty on two counts of The Mann Act [click here if you missed that].

The judge has denied Diddy's request to be released on bond until sentencing...

From Deadline

Awaiting his sentencing fate after being found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prastitution, Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain behind bars.
In a shocking move by Judge Arun Subramanian mere hours after a New York jury handed federal prosecutors a walloping defeat with acquittal on the most serious of five charges, racketeering conspiracy and six trafficking, the Bad Boy Records founder was denied bond during a Wednesday afternoon hearing. Having failed repeatedly to secure a $50 million bail since being taken into custody by NYPD and federal agents in September, the “All About the Benjamins” performer has been in custody at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center the past nine months.
With his bail bid rejected, Combs is currently set to be sentenced on October 3, Judge Subramanian announced from the bench.

Puff should APPEAL to a Higher Court since he's been DENIED Bail for charges he'd just been Acquitted of 4 over a year.
His Due Process as an American born Citizen allows him the right to have bail.
I'm not a Diddy fan, I just see if they'll do him like this they'll have no problems doing me as black American Born Citizen bail also. That's why those bothers me.

If they got Ray J then I know they're trying to get convicted felon Suge Knight 's response even though they might have a problem getting his given it may be past time for phone privileges for his criminal ssa!

Lawd, y'all Google University lawyers don't know squat! The judge is well within is rights to hold Puffy, because he hasn't been sentenced and he's still a flight risk.

@8:11 Exactly meanwhile Donald Duck I mean Trump is on the loose.

Maybe so, 8:42, but CORRECTION: I am a lawyer and know the law. He has been held w/o bail on charges that he's since been acquitted of, therefore with in his rights to be granted bail!
Maybe you're a "Google University lawyer" and "don't know squat" about the law and furthermore one's rights as a U.S. Citizen, but I'm not!

Looks like Karenda's in here posting as "Anon" and co-signing her own comments @8:42/8:47.
Chil, I can't rn.....

If he wasn't fully aquitted the denied bail should be related to the charges that stuck, no? He was found guilty so he's probably a flight risk.

9:27, He was convicted on lesser charges and should be granted bail even though he's a flight risk

^Good 4 ur goofy ssa!

He was found guilty of 2 charges. The judge was well within his right to deny bail. Diddy is known to intimidate witnesses and has done this to the Jane Doe while he was in jail awaiting trial. The judge said that he has proven to be violent based on the hotel video. I guess the judge is thinking that if he released him on bail and God forbid before October he could violate the bond by harassing and/or hiring someone to assault or kill them. The judge doesn't want that on his head. Honestly the bond denial actually protects Diddy from himself because he's emotionally vulnerable and his reputation is damaged. Diddy doesn't have that self control to not retaliate against people who testified against him and adding more charges esp. since he's still awaiting sentencing.

^ Good point.

His legal team will APPEAL to a Higher Court, which is within their client's rights, 9:54.
If the judge was so concerned about witness intimidation he would've had the jurors sequesterd.

Sure, he could absolutely appeal the bail decision as that is his right to do so and it could be overtured. I could imagine that's what his lawyers are doing right now. I've just stated the judge's rationale for his decision. He said it was because of Diddy's propensity for violence based on the video submitted as evidence and both Cassie's and Jane Doe's letters were taken into consideration. But yes, he can appeal the decision and see wif the appellate court disagrees wit the judge's ruling today.

Free Puffy! At max, Puffy should be under house arrest, passport taken, and ordered to remain in NY until sentencing. No way should bail have been denied for the two lesser charges. His October sentencing should be time served or probation for a year. This man is in jail for sex shows. He's not even locked up for Ike Turnering anybody. Sex shows!!

That's why bail with provisions are put in place, 10:12.

Anonymous said...

Yes bond provisions are put in place but people violate them all the time while waiting for their trial or waiting for sentencing putting others in danger. That's the risk that the judge takes when they put on bond conditions. They must consider the risk to the witnesses and/or the general public at large and consider whether this person will appear for their hearing and is not a flight risk. Apparently to the judge the flight risk was not much of a concern but the threat against witnesses was.

This is the same reason he was denied bond pretrial and remained in jail since his arrest

Anonymous said...

Not so. The federal charges was what really resulted in his not being granted bail. But since being acquitted on the most serious charges but convicted on lesser charges is why he should be granted bail with provisions in place. It's only fair. He's still human and have rights, ppl.

Anonymous said...

PreTrial with what he was facing was understandable. But since being acquitted by a jury of peers, he has a right to be granted bond if and when his legal team appeals hid conviction.

Anonymous said...

I hear you. But I think if the sentencing date was in 3 weeks and not in 3 months, the judge would have probably released him today. I think the length of time before trial was also a factor.

Anonymous said...

Again, as an American Citizen and since being acquitted of the most serious of the charges, like it or not, Sean Combs has RIGHTS and should be granted bond now..

Anonymous said...

There are hundreds of thousands of American citizens who get remanded to jail until trial or sentencing for even lesser charges than Diddy's charges. The judge always determines whether to issue bond or not. Bond denial is not unique to Diddy and happens all time and the judge always gibe their reasoning for why they denied bail. But he certainly can appeal the decision as that's well within his legal right.

Anonymous said...

That I'm sure he and his team will appeal and request bond where a judge will make the right call on this.

Anonymous said...

This is cruel and unusual punishment.

2 Cents.

This some BS.
