Heartbreaking New Details in Malcom Jamal Warner Drowning

This week actor Malcom Jamal Warner drowned after getting caught in a rip current off the coast of Costa Rica [click here if you missed that].

Warner was swimming with his 8-year-old daughter at the time...

Malcolm-Jamal Warner was swimming with his 8-year-old daughter on Sunday off the coast of Costa Rica when he drowned, police tell ABC News.
Surfers spotted the actor, best known for his role as Theo Huxtable in the hit TV sitcom "The Cosby Show," and his daughter struggling and dove in to help.
A surfer used his board to bring Warner's daughter to safety and a volunteer lifeguard pulled Warner and another surfer to shore, where warner was given 45 minutes of CPR, according to police.
Police told ABC News on Tuesday that an autopsy on Warner has been completed. The Forensic Pathology Department said that the autopsy confirmed Warner's cause of death, which was described as asphyxiation by submersion, and was accidental.
Both surfers survived, police said.
Warner died near Cocles, a beach in Limon, Costa Rica, after getting caught by a rip current. He was 54.

Allegedly, unsafe waters near the beach were not closed because the people who make that type of decision didn't want tourism dollars affected by closure.

A comment from the video above:

I have heard 3 different stories now:
One, he went out swimming alone just before sunrise then when he didn't return after an hour his wife call emergency and they found his body washed up on a coral reef/rocks.
Two, he was taking surfing lessons and got swept out to sea where he drowned.
Three, he was swimming with his daughter in the mid afternoon when both of them got caught in a rip current but his daughter was saved while he drowned.

That's what I'm saying, why all the conflicting reports? It keeps getting stranger.

I read he went "solo," and I use the quotes because that's exactly what they said, solo.

I Luv a good mystery. TMZ is saying, "One sign even advises that only advanced surfers should enter the water, underscoring how treacherous the conditions can be."

And they want us to believe he took his precious daughter into those waters.

However it happened, he is deceased.

@4:37 The insurance will need to know EXACTLY what happen to lead to his passing. His mother, his family, his ESTATE all are affected!

These crude & "nothing happened here" comments are beyond suspicious. Listen, liability will be looked into
no matter how many bot comment are dropped on youtube
here, TMZ, & dozens of news blogs

This is reminding me of Naya Rivera and her son where Naya was able to get her son back on the boat but her son watched her fall back into the water never to be seen alive again a few years ago. So sad

The internet is known for its misinformation now.

The signs are in BRIBRI the laguage of the indigenous
people who have lived right there for generations
and Spanish. Plus they are not GIGANTIC warning signs
they are tiny & insignificantly placed.

This water, the beach is know by thrill seeking surfers
for the huge choppy waves.

Dare devil surfers, the one's alwaya looking for the biggest waves

Its remote, the town DOESN'T event have a hospital or ambulance

Some spots have a history over the years with the locals to be know as treacherous, that you should never go into.

On second thought I don't believe the signs were that big and bold like TMZ is saying.

Even if the signs were not that large they had to have known. It's a very remote area and just using his eyes should know not to go in choppy rough waters at high tide with his baby. It was a lack of good judgement for sure.

Also what's up with the wife? No mention of her in any of these stories. She's such an elusive figure. We hear about him, his daughter but no mention about the wife and her reaction not even from witnesses. No statement released from her. Her name is not even listed anywhere. All that is known about her is that she's an attorney but she is somehow has the same protection as the CIA. It's strange esp. considering the circumstances.

He drowned. We don't know exactly how, but we know it was an accident. Can we let him rest and let his family grieve now?

Stay away from Costa Rica & Cruise Ships...

Those two places have more [unsolved mysteries]
& [mysterious disapearances] any other place in the history
of the world.

A common denominator - international law on one hand
& corruption on the other
