Over the weekend it was reported that Lauryn Hill did not take the stage at Essence Fest until well after 2am despite a 12:30am set time [click here if you missed that].

She really doesn’t care until it affects her pockets. Lauren is weird. Why she is still touring off one album is even weirder. Y’all really gassed this broad up over the years.
I love Lauren Hill's music and she is a great performer. She is worth the wait. It would be nice if she would give an estimate on how delayed the shows will be so that fans can make plan accordingly.
The organizers of Essence Fest performances added Lauryn to Friday night's show at the last minute. They already had too many performers that night, but added her anyway. The performances with the others started late because of technical difficulties and issues with backline and stage. So everybody started late. The breaks in between each performance were long and delayed the start of the next act. So by the time Lauryn was supposed to go on, she was indeed in the house because everything else was late. She was on time *this time* and this indeed was not her fault. The folks that have taken over Essence Fest have no idea how to do music festivals/shows. The others have taken over production and their lack of experience messed up the entire weekend for those who attended.
@1:40PM I'm with you. I've never got into her music but didn't know until recently that she only has one album. Wow! I used to watch her on As The World Turns when she was a teenager. She doesn't look well based on the image shown.
