Quinta Brunson Ready to Move on From Abbott Elementary

Abbott Elementary creator, actress Quinita Brunson, admits she's ready to move on from the successful series...

From Variety
“Abbott Elementary” star, showrunner and creator Quinta Brunson is looking forward to her next big project.
During a recent interview with Bustle, the Emmy-winner explained that she is “looking forward to moving away” from her role as elementary school teacher Janine Teagues. She added that she knows several cast members who would also “love” to expand to other roles.
“We are so fortunate and blessed to be on a network TV show for five seasons, and for people to still be fans,” Brunson explained. “That being said, I have cast members who would love to pursue other projects, and our show is very time-consuming. We shoot about seven months out of the year. That can stop people from being able to do a lot of other things.”
Brunson said that she is currently parsing through scripts to see what might come next, but is still waiting for the perfect TV show or movie to cross her desk.
“Right now, I’m receiving scripts, and waiting for that moment that feels like, ‘Oh man, this is exactly what I’ve been looking for,’” she said. “’Abbott’ has been so successful, and I want to use that success to get other people’s projects off the ground.”
