Tyler Perry Recalls Advising Ryan Coogler on His Sinners Deal

This year there was controversy surrounding filmmaker, Ryan Coogler's, deal with Warner Bros. for the movie, 'Sinners,' because Ryan received an unprecedented percentage of the box office gross upfront, instead of being paid after the studio recoups, and ownership of the film reverts back to him after 25 years [click here if you missed that].

Tyler Perry said he helped Ryan Coogler get ownership for Sinners, the film has now made over $400 million and became the highest grossing original black film:
