L.A. Reid to Represent Himself in Drew Dixon Case?

Two years ago former record exec, Drew Dixon, filed a civil lawsuit against her former Arista Records boss, L.A. Reid, accusing him of sixual assault and derailing her career after refusing his advances [click here if you missed that].

Reid loses his legal team due to non-payment just ahead of trial...

With less than two weeks to go before his trial on claims he sixually assaulted former Arista A&R executive Drew Dixon, music mogul Antonio “L.A.” Reid is effectively representing himself, a federal judge confirmed Tuesday during a status conference in the New York-based civil case.
At the end of the 30-minute video hearing, U.S. District Judge Jeannette A. Vargas referred to Reid as “pro se,” meaning a party moving forward without an attorney. The comment came after the judge granted a renewed request by Reid’s lawyers to be relieved “unconditionally.” In filings, the lawyers previously told the court that Reid — who helmed Arista, Island Def Jam, and Epic Records during his heyday — hadn’t paid them since February. They said while it’s true Reid owns a mansion in Los Angeles’ ritzy Bel-Air neighborhood, he hasn’t been able to sell it, even after slashing the price by several million dollars.

Wow, has he gone broke? I see producers as forever rich so what happened, hmm?

That’s not bright.

I know there are days where he wishes he could go back to wearing a greasy jheri curl with The Deele or not gone farther than producing. L.A. made a good call by signing Pink! but his other boss moves have backfired because of how he treats people.

He's gotta be low on funds, he knows what's a stake by representing himself. Color me surprised

Unlike Babyface, he didn't write the songs, so no royalty stream of income. Yeah, he was in charge but when he lost the job, the checks stopped. He could be broke which would entitle her to dust should she win.

Them lawyer fees will eat away at your cash flow. He must be in a dire financial situation to have to resort representing himself. This chick wiping the floor with LA Reid.
