Wendy Williams' guardianship is being upheld after the completion of her medical exam.
Legal documents obtained by PEOPLE indicate the television personality's medical evaluation — which included a "significant number of tests (both medical and neuropsychological) and scans (including brain imaging)" — has been completed and doctors have determined an "opinion" about Williams' neurological condition and diagnosis.
Though the condition is not listed in the paperwork, sources tell PEOPLE that Williams has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and aphasia. She was first diagnosed with FTD and aphasia in 2023.
In the documents, an attorney for Williams' guardian Sabrina Morrissey requests the court extend the guardianship for three months — with an end date of Nov. 5.
The attorney also notes that "complications have arisen" due to various parties, including counsel for certain members of [Williams'] family, [Williams'] ex-husband, and others, have indicated their intention to challenge both the Guardianship itself as well as Ms. Morrissey’s status as Guardian."

It's unfortunate but the guardianship not indefinite either...just 3 more months.
Wendy probably needs her guardian because her family wouldn’t tell her no.
Let this be a lesson -- never let your family get your assets so messed up that your bank gets suspicious and then suggest to the state that you should be in guardianship. If you feel yourself slipping, find another person in your family with integrity or someone close that you trust outside of your family to help you handle affairs and get trusts set up & properly assigned. Guardianships are hard to get out of once they get you caught up.

Nah, Wendy is protecting herself from her greedy ex, which is why the media has her medical 'records.' Gotta do what she gotta do.
Even if she needed a financial guardian, there is no reason she should be physically locked up the way she is. They did not lock up Britney Spears like that!

I am afraid for Wendy when she is released, I don’t like the guardian but Wendy’s family and her ex are problematic to her sobriety. She stays inebriated and that makes her vulnerable
