Pop star Mariah Carey calls out the VMAs after receiving her first Video Music Award...

In her acceptance speech Mariah playfully quips,
"Thank you so much MTV for giving me the Vanguard Award. I can't believe I'm getting my first VMA tonight and I just have one question: "What in the Sam Hill were you waiting on?!"

Mariah only kissed Ariana after Ari bowed down to her. Love it!

The entire purpose for a Michael Jackson MTV Video Vanguard Award is to honor those superstars who changed the Visual game with their music via art., which is why Michael Jackson, Guns N Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Aerosmith, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Beyonce, P!nk, J-Lo, Missy, Busta Rhymes, & mostly late 80's/90's acts were APPROPRIATELY Rewarded this award.
It's to honor the artists for helping BUILD the viewership on the network and other music channel networks over the years with their innovative visual art.
That being said, I'm not sure Mariah Carey's visuals brought anything to the table for MTV in that regard. But, I'm glad they honored her with that particular award none the less.
Congrats, MC!

^ So glad you said it, and quite eloquently I may add, cause I was thinking the same thing in a much ruder way.
