Snowfall Spinoff Picked Up by FX

Back in March it was announced that a spinoff for the late John Singleton's hit series, 'Snowfall,' was in the works [click here if you missed that].

Now the spinoff has been picked up by FX...

FX has given a series order to its untitled Snowfall spinoff, which stars the original series’ cast members Gail Bean and Isaiah John reprising their roles as Wanda and Leon Simmons, respectively. It is slated for premiere next year on FX and Hulu.
As Deadline first reported, the spinoff, a follow-up to the hit mothership series, was put in development in 2023 as Snowfall’s six-season run came to an end on FX. It received a pilot order in March.
Written and executive produced by Malcolm Spellman, the spinoff is set in ‘90s Los Angeles soon after the end of the original series. It revolves around a recovering addict who strives to take West Coast rap mainstream — while gang wars erupt and record labels move to exploit hip hop culture for their own gain.

Snowfall was garbage. So I can only expect the spin off to be trash.

Me for one. I’m tired of Black violence on tv. That’s not all people want to see. Duh.

Snowfall was one, if not the first other than MrWebb to share about the See eye ayys orchestration of the Crack epidemic. Yes it feel off after Singleton passed. That said I'm happy to see another chance at exposing the sabatoge of our communities. Hiphop and CCA on deck. whos going to play Ice Cube LOL

Thing is, Snowfall was based on real events and some places were re-created to look like known spots (eg The Bottoms where druggies had a substance buffet at their disposal). I always liked their storyline and as long as they don't include Franklin's mama, I'm posting up for this.
