A still unpaid default judgment obtained by a woman in a defamation suit against rapper Blueface has grown to more than $130,000, according to the plaintiff’s attorneys new court papers.
In her Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit brought in December 2023, Jackilyn Martinez said the entertainer maligned her reputation with a series of internet postings suggesting that Soulja Boy’s 2-year-old child could be his. Martinez is the mother of the boy.
On Wednesday, attorneys for the woman filed writs of execution with the sheriffs of Los Angeles and Sacramento counties stating that the default judgment, with interest, is now at about $131,655. Earlier this month, Judge Peter Hernandez ordered that royalties collected by BMI as well as the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers on Blueface’s behalf be assigned to Martinez to the amount necessary to fulfill her judgment.
The original judgment Hernandez awarded to Martinez in April was $123,245, which includes $100,000 for her pain and suffering. The judge declined to award punitive damages.
