Turns out Erica riding in a stolen car at the time of her arrest...
From 11Alive
On Dec. 8, Brookhaven Police officers said they initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a tinted tag cover.
During the traffic stop, police said they discovered the vehicle had a "dealer" plate affixed to the back of the car. When the VIN was checked, it revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen to the Atlanta Police Department.
Once officers confirmed, the vehicle was stolen, the occupants in the vehicle were detained. Officers searched the vehicle and found that both occupants were in possession of suspected illegal d rugs.
One of the occupants in the vehicle was identified as 27-year-old Erica Breaux, whose stage name is Erica Banks. Banks is a rapper whose 2020 hit 'Buss it' became the song for a popular TikTok video trend. She was also on the show 'Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.'
In new warrants obtained by 11Alive on Tuesday afternoon, it alleges that Banks had several commercially packaged plastic bags containing marixuana in her purse and seven within the cab of the vehicle in her possession. The warrant also stated there were also 100 empty new commercial plastic bags for packaging bags that were allegedly going to be utilized for distribution.
She was taken into custody along with the 25-year-old driver of the vehicle on possession with intent to distribute MDMA and possession with intent to distribute marixuana. Both are felony charges.
She is being held at the DeKalb County Jail.
