On November 6, Samantha filed a response to Tyrese’s lawsuit demanding that the custody deal be modified. She filed a counterclaim against the entertainer over alleged contempt.
Samantha admitted she now lives in Oregon. She said she notified Tyrese and provided him with three school options to allow him the chance to give his input.
In her response, Samantha said she did not need Tyrese’s permission to move. She claimed Tyrese did not exercise all of his parenting time when Soraya lived in Atlanta.
“[Tyrese] had the opportunity to notify Mother of his school preference but failed to do so within 10 days as required,” Samantha’s lawyer alleged. “Instead, he sent a written response stating he does not consent to Mother’s move. There is, however, no provision in the original parenting plan or the July 2025 [court order] that requires [Tyrese’s] consent for [Samantha] to move.”
Samantha also claimed that Tyrese has never “personally picked up or dropped off the child for his parenting time and during his parenting time he delegates virtually 100% of his parenting duties to a nanny, including, frequently sending [Soraya] to the nanny’s house during his parenting time so that his house is quiet, thus allowing him to sleep during the day since he apparently spends his nights in a music studio.”
In her filing, Samantha said Tyrese often moved without giving her notice.
The case is ongoing.

They're both draining. Poor child.
I can't believe that I am saying this, but I agree with Tyrese for once. You can't just pick up and move across the country with a child when both parents have visitation.
I believe Samantha. Tyrese doesn't really care about the child, he wants to control the mother. He ain't stopping nothing, she's already upped and moved.
