This week Will Smith's former friend and personal assistant, Salaam Bilal, filed a $3 million civil lawsuit against Will's wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, for intentional infliction of emotional distress, claiming she told him he would 'come up missing' or 'catch a bullet,' if he kept talking about her and Will after his headline grabbing interview with gossip vlogger Tasha K [click here if you missed that].

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are upset over a recent lawsuit filed against Pinkett Smith, according to sources close to the couple.

“They are really mad and say it’s a lot of crap,” an entertainment source tells PEOPLE, calling Salaam “an opportunistic person out to exploit them.”

The couple see the complaint "as a money ploy to get what they can out of them,” they add. “Naturally, both of them dislike people around them talking out of school.”

“Bilaal has been close to Will for many years but sometime along the way became a blabbermouth which has upset both Will and Jada,” another source tells PEOPLE. “Like any other high profile people, they don’t want to hear about their lives in the public arena. Especially in a controversial way.”

Salaam’s $3 million lawsuit “was tailored to produce some money to make it go away,” the source adds.
