Netflix Blindsided by Karamo Brown Media Snub

This week Karamo Brown pulled out of the Queer Eye press junket for their final season at the last minute, claiming he'd been bullied by his co-stars [click here if you missed that].

Now insiders are claiming Netflix execs are furious because they had no idea what was going on behind the scenes...

From The Sun
NETFLIX executives were left stunned and scrambling after Queer Eye star Karamo Brown publicly alleged he was ‘bullied’ on set in the ‘eleventh hour.’
The bombshell detonated behind the streamer’s back just before the show’s final curtain call, which Netflix fears has “ruined” the beloved show’s legacy, insiders exclusively told The U.S. Sun.
A production source claimed that Netflix was “horrified” by Karamo’s allegations that were made public on Tuesday, and insisted the company had no warning that the issues ran as deep as he later suggested.
“Netflix is frustrated that all of this is coming out at the eleventh hour. They were blindsided by him not showing up for interviews.
“That was not originally the plan and there has been little to no communication from his team to the Netflix team,” a production source claimed.
According to the insider, Karamo’s last-minute decision to skip scheduled Queer Eye press appearances, including a planned sit-down with his co-stars on the Today Show and CBS Mornings, sent shockwaves through the streamer.
“Netflix feels horribly that he was going through this and had no idea the issues went as deep as they did.
“And now, it seems he’s alienated [Netflix] and has gone about this with his own team.”
The fallout has reportedly cut deep for those behind the long-running makeover series, which is ending after the new season.
“Fury is too light of a word,” the source said bluntly for how upset execs are that the final season is surrounded with negativity.
“The show’s reputation and legacy has been stained. They wanted to end this show with the love that started it all.”
