Now Trey is suing the KCPD for assault and wrongful arrest...

From Fox4KC
R&B singer Trey Songz, whose real name is Tremaine A. Neverson, has filed a lawsuit against the Kansas City Police Department and multiple security-related entities.
Neverson claims he was assaulted, wrongfully arrested and detained during a fight at the AFC Championship game at Arrowhead Stadium in January 2021.
Court records show that he filed a petition for damages in Jackson County Circuit Court this week.
The lawsuit names the Kansas City Police Department and GEHA, which operates GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and Whelan Event Services.
The lawsuit stems from an incident during the AFC Championship game on Jan. 24, 2021, when the singer was involved in an altercation with stadium security and Kansas City police. FOX4 previously reported that Neverson was arrested for allegedly punching a police officer during the game.
According to the lawsuit, Neverson claims he was seated as an invitee at the stadium when nearby fans began heckling and harassing him due to his celebrity status. The lawsuit says that security and police were called to the area but failed to protect him from “unruly, aggressive, and intoxicated attendees.”
Neverson claims police officers and security personnel physically assaulted him, wrongfully arrested him, handcuffed him and detained him in jail.
He was charged with trespassing, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer, though court documents say all charges were later dismissed.
The lawsuit alleges negligence, excessive force, false arrest and failure to provide proper security.
Neverson claims he suffered physical injuries, emotional distress, damage to his professional reputation and financial losses as a result of the incident.
