Lil Rod insists the fight is not over and he's planning to write a book...
From The Mirror
Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones said the public should be "satisfied" that Sean "P. Diddy" Combs is finally behind bars, calling the rapper’s current incarceration long-overdue.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror US during the 2026 Grammy Awards ASCAP brunch on January 30, Jones addressed the ongoing legal battles stemming from his $30 million lawsuit against Combs, originally filed in February 2024. Although several of Jones' claims were dismissed last year, it has been claimed that some key allegations remain in court.
"The fight is still on," Jones said. "There are still charges pending against him, and some of those charges we do plan on bringing back. Right now the case is in discovery. You can Google and search around."
When asked whether Diddy's four-year sentence seemed light, Jones said the conviction itself was a step forward in the right direction.
"It’s a start," he said. "He's escaped a lot for many decades and this is the first time he's actually sat behind bars and answered to anything. So I think we all should be at least a little satisfied with that for the moment." Jones confirmed his prior connection to Diddy was strictly musical.
Jones said his own focus has now shifted to working on new projects besides music.
"My book is getting ready to release real soon, in the first quarter," he said. "And my album, also a documentary, and I have a few movie scores that I’m working on presently. You can expect to see a lot in the next three to six months."
